i cant win a single battle
wtf am i doing wrong

i just started the skaven campain, the normal difficulty one.

now just as you start out theres a city to your left, which is easy to take, but the city to the north of that one, i just cant take it.

the A.I is total BS, it doesnt move its unit, making it so you have to run in there and get half your guys dead before they even make it there.

now to the south of where you first start off, there is a fully formed lizardmen army that is maxed on units and is impossbile to take.

hhhhhhhhhhhhhnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg rage

Just need to practice. One thing to keep in mind is that if you're the attacker, the AI won't move. You're attacking them, they're defending, so they're not going to run out to you. They'll only start moving when your artillery/magic/missile units get into range because they're smart enough to not stand there getting shot.

You're also playing Skaven who have really good upkeep for their units, so the idea is to take mass units as much as possible. Most of my Skaven campaign thus far I have pairs of Lords moving around, one with a half-decent army, one with pretty much slaves. Swarm the enemy, drop some spells, use the menace below ability for rear charges, win :)

The skaven slaves are expendable. Their loss does not affect your morale. They are literally meatshields. Use them to take the brunt of the attacks, the arrows, the blades, and have your stronger forces enter afterward either reinforcing the line or circling around.

You can summon skaven. These too do not affect your morale, best yet, they disrupt the enemy line. Summon them on top of your enemy, indicate their eruption path to run opposite, and flank them completely.

Unfortunately, Lizardmen are stronger 1:1. They are better in every way 1:1. They don't even break until it's so bleak that its the handful and they just realized they have children waiting for them at home (spawning pools, so they don't). It's an uphill battle there. You can also use heroes to soften them up through actions then hit them.

As Skaven, you're 90% all about quantity. Have a 2nd or even a 3rd lord following along with cheap expendable units. Take advantage of your superior numbers to flank, rear charge and exhaust your enemy before dealing the killing blow with your main stack of elites.
IF you have to fight 1 vs 1, try to ambush as much as possible and use your heroes to assault the enemy army. Similarly, try to raid the garrison first before laying siege to a city.

Get a Grey Seer with the Ruin lore and spam warp lightning.
I found on my first play through, if you do the introduction battles, you gain 3-5 extra units which really help in the begining.

tactics dude, try change them up. read unit descriptions, try to play defense more often. dont attack if disadvtange the ai is quite stupid, easily taken advantage of

Odd.
I found skaven extreemly easy to play.
Just build several armies of skaven slaves and send them in waves to the enemy.
My enemies useally run out of ammo before i run out of slaves.
Ofcourse i do have a small army of elite troops but any lord that isnt skrulk gets slaves and nothing else.

Generaly speaking when playing skaven your only question shoud be:
Can i afford these losses?

I useall just send my skaven slaves to die in droves while i am using from below to attack them in the back.
Works most of the time.

As for the lizards having a powerfull stack.
One of there rituals give them a free feral army.
Just avoid it and use corruption to destroy there land
Or act like a skaven and drown it in numbers.

If you're going to be fighting Lizardmen, get a bunch of Clanrat Shields and Death Globe Bombardiers. Shields can hold the line against lizards since lizards are slow and not terribly powerful on melee attack, and Death Globe Bombardiers do insane damage to everything but the skinks (which you can easily overwhelm through sheer weight of numbers).

Until you can get Death Globes, though, just raise armies of skavenslaves and bury them in sheer numbers. You can field about 8-10 groups of slaves for every unit of Saurus.

You just need more rats. Everything can be solved with more rats.
