I can't asspull three other armies out of the blue on one turn.
.... You ambush them? Whats there not to get?
Like nosuchname said just tank them at a city and you should have at least 3 full armys and a 4th army for weakening the main push. This enables you to pick off the armies before they really get grouped up or recover from battle.
If you are playing alone with no allies you should get lighting strike trait to 1v1 each army. And to reinforce each settlement with garnisons tbh
Sometimes you gotta accept that you will lost some things, its Total War after all.
He said "if you play as skaven", ie. offensive ambushes.
And he's right, just tank them at cities. I just did the fifth ritual as high elves, seven skaven stacks spawned within spitting distance of one of the ritual cities, along with all three other factions' interventions.
The largest battle resulting from that was three full stacks attacking the eagle gate, 6000 rats versus 1200 defenders. They lost. Only thing I couldn't save was one minor settlement I wasn't within reach of, all other settlements within reach had one of my stacks defending them by the end of the turn. The two interventions spawned near Lothern, also defended by a full stack, they both got butchered too, with the help of the garrison.
So yeah, stick to your settlements while the enemy is in overwhelming numbers, let them break against the walls, or just use the garrison as disposable reinforcements to soak casualties.
The issue is that I now have seven raging armies destroying my city which were spawned by the lovely asspulling chaos god, I cannot build up my army again - my allies are all busy doing nothing and most of my major cities came under fire.
I understand it's supposed to be difficult, but there is literally 0 you can do in that situation, especially since you can;t even predict it? How am I supposed to know where random army stack x is going to spawn along with his 6 friends.
Maybe this isn't the game for you.
To get to my point, I think the idea of being able to pay x amount of money to spawn a large elite army in enemy territory is stupid. Be it for the A.I or for me. I don't suppose there is a mod available to remove this option from both sides?
