Cursor-Bug: Windows standard cursor instead of game cursor
Hi,

My problem is that I have no functioning context-sensitive game cursor. The game just uses the standard "Loading" Windows cursor (the egg timer thing). I have had this problem in every Total War game since Rome2. All other Total Wars and all my other games work with the right game cursor. I have searched the forums and internet for people with the same issue and seem to be the only on with this particular problem.

My specs:
Windows10 Home 64 Bit
i7-4790k 4.00GHz
16 GB RAM
Geforce GTX 980 4GB

My girlfriend has the exact (!) same rig & components like I and has no problems with cursors in Rome2 and the Warhammer games at all.

Any ideas from you guys what could cause this or how to fix it?

Hello there,

Maybe this is not of use but this is actually funny!
I have the exact same rig and problem. I tried hundreds of forums and sites but no luck.
I even contacted SEGA and they also have no clue. :steamsad:
You are not alone!

Did you try windowed mode or switching fullscreen-window-fullscreen? I remember this being an issue in games like civ 5 in the old, old days.

Maybe try using another cursor set? Or just setting it to another and back again?

Hey guys, I aprreciate your responses! But I got to fix the problem in the meantime. The issue seemed to be connected to Windows 7 and the upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10. To make it clear: I had used Windows 7 and had the bug. Then I upgraded to Windows 10 and still had the bug.

2 Months ago, I did a FRESH CLEAN install of Windows 10, that fixed all issues in all the Total War games that had the "cursor bug". Perhaps some old Windows 7 registry stuff caused the problems. Problems, that were not solved by simply upgrading to Windows 10 as it seems. So, if you still have this problem, Masvo, then try to install a complete fresh version of Windows 10. Just google for it how it's done, you don't need a physical copy to do it.

I hope this works for you as well!
