How to use Final Transmutation?
In-game help says "strong vs single combatant", so it's supposed to be a "sniper" spell against lords and monsters, but in all games i saw it was used on unit blobs, and IIRK it has AoE effect, so it almost impossible to snipe someone.

I tried it in WH1, got no results and just stopped using it but.., well, how to use it right?

So i can just snipe some lords\giants, and if there will be monsters\heroes\lords in the area they will be damaged just as effectively, am I correct?

I use it on lords or heros that get seperated from the blob. I think the effect gets spread over what ever is in its aura so it works best when there are the least amount of models in that aura.

It's still a pretty worthless spell for the cost. I would just stick with the hounds, rust, and other good metal spells.

My experiences with it have been quite good. It's most cost effective when overcast. Used on an area with lots of enemies, you can significantly damage large groups, and single unit entities alike.

Yes

This.

Compared to the VC spell for direct-damage against a single unit (Spirit Leech?), it's a joke... the cost is quite high, and I always expected it to be lowered, but nope.

I mean, if you absolutely need to finish off a LL or Giant, I guess it works... but the cost is so high, well, it probably is still better to spend on Rust or some buff for whatever unit is fighting that enemy.

AoE is the only real perk to Final Transmutation IMO. Like the quote directly above says, if you can manage to cast it over a tight pack of very elite enemies, it probably works reasonably well... but bear in mind that if that blob is mostly goblins or low-tier trash with maybe just a hero mixed in, then you are probably wasting the spell because the AoE is indeed the only real plus to it.

I mean, it's not a bad spelll by any means until you factor in the huge cost. It can certainly be used to good effect, I just think you're better off in most cases saving your winds for better spells.

Spamming rust on key targets, using transmutation of lead, and casting hounds on densely packed enemies seems like much more effective use of my limited magic power.
