Save Teclis!
Every campaign playing as Tyrion I must always rush to save Teclis before he's overrun by Skrolk. But just like the other elves he's a pompous prick that won't let me confederate and get him back to Ulthuan. Any tips for confederating quickly?

HE confederation between the two legendary factions is probably the hardest in the game in my experience. Playing as Teclis I ended up having to stomp Tyrion into confederating w/me as he just built an insane amount of stacks so you couldn't ever get a requisite strength gap between you to get them to agree to confederate w/ you.

My advice is play as Teclis, go back to Ulthuan and take the White Tower.

Really?
In every campaign i play the skaven get slaughtered by lizardmen and teclis.
Even when i play teclis i always end up in an alliance with the lizardman purly to wipe out the skavens.

There sneakly little basterds.

Use influence to make everyone angry at lord Skrolk.

I abandoned the south and went home on turn 3 (2 turns recruiting) as Teclis. Was a lot of fun but I spent a lot of time poor as churchmouse.

I can confed him every time easily - Teclis is so sieged and so constantly attacked that he will confed with almost no cash donation - if you have taken all of Uluthan and cnanot get confed with Teclis you are doing something very very very wrong.

Never ever assist a faction you want to confed with your military, with cash, or by actually attacking their enemies - they confed when weak, not when you help them

I also have a dilemma related to the HE Confederation problem - or more precisely its aftermath. Unlike the OP, I have no problem at all confederating, but I am left with a difficult choice once I do that. Namely, I could either try to defend both Ulthuan and Teclis' foothold on Lustria - or abandon Lustria and consolidate Ulthuan. Both paths seem fraught with dangers. If I try to defend both region, then I am stretched too thin, and I have a difficult time going on the offensive. But if I abandon Lustria, then the Clan Pestilens just fills the power vacuum and shoots up to #1 power position in time. I have so far only tried the consolidation at Ulthuan strategy, and it has not worked well, because DE and my faction bleed each other to death thereafter, and the Clan Pestilens just runs rampant in Lustria. (They always beat Mazdamundi - and rather quickly.)

If Skrolk is winning against Teclis and you're on good terms with Little Brother, then he should confederate quite willingly to save his skin. Is this not happening?

Try to save up a lot of money...just like in real life...$$$ is the answer to almost all of your problems! I am playing Teclis right now in ME and even though Tyrion won't confederate with me right away...the 2nd I put 50k in the equation he's a lot more agreeable! Fancy that?!

Teclis is in a real crappy spot with few natural enemies around him and the ones existing are strong to start with.

The rats and undead are a pain and you if are playing "nice guy" you will most likely want to stay friendly with the lizzards. That gives you two options, conquer on the other side of the ocean or simply move base as someone explained above.

I missed this earlier. How do you use Influence to make one faction angry with another?

You have a button for that on your lower right corner, it should be easy to find. Just chose factions, whether you wish to decrease or increase and voila .... you can even make your mother in law like you.

I know you can make someone like or dislike YOU, but how can you make them like or dislike a third party? Do you mean there is a relation where if someone likes you, then he will like those who like you - and vice versa?

You can choose any faction to dislike/like one another ... not just you.
