Insane trait
My character (mage cleanser) got the insane trait by spending several turns in terrain with chaos corruption. Is there any way to cure it?

Easy. Just have him spend enough time in 100% untained regions in a row.
Same for Bloodthirsty trait.

Are you sure this works? In my experience, all Traits are forever, unless you are a Bret.
You can lose certain traits depending on your actions. For example you may lose the Confident Attacker if you lose a battle when you attacked.

Unlike the first game, all traits have progression bar now (save for some unique traits) and negative traits can reach higher progression that results in nullifying itself. Vice versa for positive traits.
You can mouse over the trait for tip on how to reach the next stage in progression bar.
I actually only tested this with Bloodthirsty which was gotten by spending too much time in vamprie territory and assume the same would happen for Insane trait, gotten from too much time in chaos territory.

Ah, ok.

Thanks for the detailed explanation; and it's a welcome news!

But is there an in-game or online source that explains the precise triggers? I used to know what files contained the triggers in the PFM files in WH1, but I couldn't find them in WH2. (But then I just got back into modding, and I've forgotten half the stuff.)

Just read the text in the game. It says it all.

What he said.
This time around, CA is really proud of their in-game help that is revealed by mouseover over whatever you want to know about.
