Lizardmen campaign: What are Slann mage-priests good for?
Hi guys :)

Been playing around as Lizardmen, but I have a hard time spotting what should make slann mage-priests especially good?
To me a Saurus general honestly feel stronger, but considering how the slanns are more restricted I assume I'm missing something?

What makes them especially worthwhile?

A lot of magic reserve boosting (and minus for the enemy) in the tech tree, and they start with four spells unlocked, which you merely boost further on the tree.

Plus they get decent spells from different schools (heaven and light at least), not just one. They're also quite tanky, deals magic damage iirc and other goodies.

In short, they're far superior than your basic saurus general. Just recruit the melee hero if you need a dedicated general slayer.

Thanks mate :)
What is the general consensus on Mazdamundi vs Krog-qar in the campaign?
I mostly play multiplayer quick battles, but I've been doing a bit of campaigning and playing on legendary Krog-Qar seem superior so far..
Better starting bonuses and location IMO

I tried mazdamundi multiple times, only really has success when i ignored the red dark elves and grabbed the ruins on the left side, that gave me two provinces to hold off the dark elves.

Also, i managed to rack up about 700 kills with mazda by using his spells. Although i got about 400+ with a heavens skink and the improved breath. The stegadon for mazda is nice though, not sure if standard slann get it.

Yeah, I tried Mazzy briefly on very hard and got swamped from the north by DE and south by something else, right after I managed to wipe out the Skeggi.

Kroq-gar on hard at the moment, complete cake-walk given the starting position as long as the dwarfs clean out the orcs for you or they would no doubt tunnel under the mountain and hit you in the rear.

Kroq rolls down the coast and cleans out all the Skaven with ease, allies with the elves, both High and Wood, friendly with all the other lizards.

Only issue is trying to get whichever lizard faction that survives to the west to confederate with you, alternatively skip diplomacy with them and just conquer.

Got lizards to join me as Krog-qar on legendary and high elves to watch my south..
Everything above the lizard empire has been taken by the undead :P
(on legendary)

Kroq-gar seems to be more popular. He's more straightforward, powerful warrior hero with simple yet strong bonuses.

In legendary however things get harder for him. Vampire to the north is a big threat and by the time you deal with them, Dark Elf will pose even bigger threat.

I personally like Maz better as I like strong mage generals. His ability to use magic is only matched by Teclis. In the same note, you can have more Slans at cheaper cost so that's great for me. Also I like the central location as there are more options to choose from. Do you go eliminate Dark Elf first, or secure the southern area first? etc.

Yeah, the vamps always grow strong up there.

As for dark elves, well, I think that in every campaign I've done so far, the Ulthuan high elves are the biggest threat every single time.

My Queek campaign became a pure chore once I saw that Tyrion had 42 settlements under his belt and invaded the south and the DE territories with multiple stacks because "reasons". ;)
