Warhammer 2 crashes on campaign loading screen

Hi all,
So when I go to load a campaign from a save, continue, or start a new one the game crashes. It gets to about 50% loaded and then quits. There is no error code and or anything sort of recognition. I don't have any mods. I have tried reinstalling, deleteing modified.log and preferences.script.txt, verifying game files, pausing antivirus but no luck.

I just want to the play the game :'(

Reinstalling steam (yes, it'll mean reinstalling every steam game...) has helped some people. But you may want to check the CA forums for other options first, or log your crash there to see if anyone can offer a better suggestion: https://forums.totalwar.com/discussion/202601/crash-during-loading/p3

Thanks, I'm not going to reinstall steam. I'll go over to CA.

I have the same problem crashing at 25% load or so, nothing at all changed since I last played. everything updated no files missing etc. With or w/o mods, fresh campaign or save.

I am having the same issue. Considering reinstalling the game since it launches. Any other ideas out there? Game launches fine but crashes when loading campaign or custom battle. My system exceed all recommended reqs.

Did you try uninstalling the recent security update? Takes a few minutes but fixed my issues.

Actually removing the update turned out to be rather straight forward the option is just burried under menus.

Updates and Security > Update History > Uninstall updates.

Appears fixing a security issue is impacting the loading of the campaign map. If you remove the update the game should run fine.

For some it is working, but not for me.
But you can try maybe it fixes it for some of you

so we all got the same problem,lets CA fix it up.I wanna play as well,I can t believe windows update did all of this...terrible but I even delete my campaigns...♥♥♥♥ xD

dafuq? poor campaign-saves xDD
well i hope so but it's difficult, not everyone has the same problem, a lot of guys don't have any problems at all. I guess it will take time to fix it all with one patch. But CA didn't make a post at all and its been 5 days since the update for win10 came out

well, i've re-install the game after removing the update, now i can launch new campain and occasionnal battle again but all my saves seems to be corrupted cause it's still crashing if i try to load it. hope it will be better for you guys! hold fast and kill-kill!

I too started having this problem last week. CA, the game is brand new and WE CAN'T PLAY IT.

It is Windows Update. "Creators fall update" it is big and take time... I believe it is some kinda microsoft manufactured crash so everybody need to update to latest.... Get that update. I had to go windows update and hit refresh. Even it suck ballz to get forced to make it. Game starts working again. I could not play over a week.
