As soon as I proposed Confederation I was at 165+ relationship and it was a moderate chance, no strings attached I just sent it and she instantly accepted. I took all her territories and became in debt -18.7k GOLD because she had so many ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Lords without any units, I just booted them all out.
This was on VERY HARD btw, so I had some Campaign penalties but it was not that big of a deal.
"Which reminds me, it may take a bit of save-scumming and campaign restarting, but a reasonaby repeatable way of confederating Morathi early on relies on a specific type of speedrun, since the Dark Elves lack global recruitment for some reason.
My method:
Turn 1) Destroy the Skaven army, capture their city. Recruit 3 units w/ Malekith.
Turn 2) Move towards the Altar of Darkness. Recruit 3 units w/ Malekith AND a new Lord at this minor settlement.
Turn 3) Capture the Altar of Darkness. If it lacks a military building, restart campaign. Otherwise, recruit 3 units to each army.
Turn 4) Move Malekith towards the last Skaven "ruin". Recruit 2 units to his army. Move Lord#2 towards the Altar of Darkness. Recruit 1 unit at this army.
Turn 5) Wipe out the Skaven with Malekith. Recruit 3 units to his army. Move Lord#2 into Altar of Darkness region - NOT the settlement itself - and recruit 3 units.
Turn 6) Malekith should be at 19 or 20 units by now. Force march him towards Hag Graef. Move Lord#2 towards Hag Graef also and recruit 3 units.
Turn 7-10) Force march both armies towards Quintex. Just suck up the Chaos attrition and get close to the Moon Shard settlement. If Morathi is still there, declare war immediately to keep her locked down. If she is closer to Quintex, probably best to restart campaign.
Turn 11) Use both armies to capture the Moon Shard settlement. Restore as many units to Malekith's army as possible. Advisable to disband second army or send it back to Naggaroth.
Turn 12-13) Move Malekith up towards Quintex. Enter raiding stance as close to half move as possible on first turn, then just stay in it thereafter.
Turn 14+) If Morathi is still at war with the Stone-horn Tribe of beastmen, her replacement army may actually leave Quintex to attack and destroy them. You will be able to leave raid stance and wipe them out at this point. Then start sieging Quintex next turn. If not, just start sieging Quintex anyway.
Done properly, Morathi will recover from her wounded status either whilst you are sieging her replacement army in Quintex, or just after you wipe it out. Either way, starve the city out. When it has about 3 or 2 turns left before surrender, she will confederate with you for about 12K gold.
All before she hits level 6 and starts her quest chain. :)
Note that you will not be able to hold any settlements except for those in Naggarond itself, or focus on almost any other thing except this strategy. So if you aren't bothered about doing her quest chain in a Malekith playthrough, well...this won't really help you."
The funny thing is, Morathi is Malekith's mother. And Malekith is a literal motherf*cker.
