Unlocking Mortal Empires
I'm still very new to the Warhammer universe, but I thought that this game might be a good start. Having a blast with it so far, but today I thought I might give one of the races in the Mortal Empires a go, just so I don't burn out on one faction. At first I was very confused as to why I hadn't unlocked it after downloading it off steam. It took me a few minutes to realize that it was asking for the first Total War to be in my steam library. Is there any other way to unlock Mortal Empires that doesn't involve coughing up $60 for a game just to unlock some "free" DLC in another?

.....it feels as if ME is the "real" campaign to be honest. and the old world and vortex campaigns are sub campaigns...

So game 1 & 2 combined is a bigger campaign with a more complete feeling than either game by itself ?

Shocking.......

were you trying to be constructive or is your natural reaction to social interactions to be an asshat fore the sake of it?

I'm pretty sure your statement was just pretty obvious and he pointed that out.

lol, take it which ever way you please, it was more directed at the thread and OP in general than yourself. Look at it as simplifying what you stated, so the glaring obvious is not able to be ignored.

I'm so sick of seeing these threads, which always devolve into whines about ME being seperate, people watning both games for the price of one and seem to ignore the fact ME is a loyalty reward for owning both games.

The only difference in this one is how the OP hides behind being unfamilar with the warhammer uniniverse ( which hold no relevance to his wanting the content from both games for the price of 1.

See this........I don't know how you could be confused. Your plainly wanting the content from game 1 for free, implying 2 is imcomplete without it.

Game 1 by itself is a complete game.

Game 2 by itself is a complete game.

ME is a free DLC useable only if you own both games, its a combination of both games, hence why it's bigger and feels more complete.

Don't like it ? refund / don't buy the game.

Note that while you can't play ME, you can play Empire, Dwarf, Vampire, Greenskin and Breton factions in the Vortex campaign or custom battles by using:

I'll most likely use this until a steam sale pops up, thank you.

Yeah, absolutely do not pay full price for TWW1. I mean, I did when it came out and I don't regret it, but it'd be silly right now when it goes on sale for 50% or better at least once a month.

It seems as though my timing for these types of sales are always spot on. What's normally the date for the thanksgiving sale? I assume it won't be too far off.

Thank you for all the replies.

If you wishlist it, you should be notified when it goes on sale. Regardless, keep an eye on the Steam store page because they'll usually announce the major sales there.

^ wishlist thing is the best. I dont need to look at sales, i get an email if there is anything on offer i want

Its smart marketing by CA actually. They figure mortal Empires will fuel a surge in sales of Warhammer 1 for Warhammer 2 owners. Smart thing is to set price back to its normal cost.
Set it back? As far as I know, TWW1's base price has never dropped since launch. It's been on sale plenty of times, but the actual unmodified price hasn't changed since it launched.

BTW It will probably go on sale for the black friday, so the wait should be only of what, less than one week and half?
Should get a chance of buying it on sale soon enough :).
