Defender of Ulthuan, or Bloodline of Aenarion?
Which do you prefer or think is better?

Depends difficulty and what you're using Tyrion for.

On higher difficulties, I find Defender more useful for the recruiting, economic, and PO, and diplomacy bonuses. On lower difficulties where I'm not worried about managing my empire as much, Bloodline lets tyrion sweep a lot of armies.

bloodline of aenarion, just charge him by himself to the enemy and then use magic or artillery on the enemy army, he won't take any damage

bloodline all the way, make yourself god like, if your provinces rebel, just own them with your god

Defender of Ulthuan is way better just because of the campaign buffs. You don't need the combat buffs on tyrion at all, since he will still out perform pretty much any lord that doesn't have single combat skills unlocked.

Bloodline of Aenarion makes a dismounted Tyrion probably the single most powerful warrior lord in the game. Whether it's worth passing up Defender of Ulthuan is debatable, but it's something to consider.

Defender of Ulthuan is probalby the better choice overall for your cmapaign progress. BLoodline of Aenarion OTOH is just ludicrously funny for turning Tyrion into a murderblender.
BLoodline of Aenarion all the way for he is the true heir of Aenarion(not the salty darth elf)

Defender of Ulthuan is the better bonus.

Welp, I suppose the mark of a well designed choice is when both answers are interesting.

Was going to say the same. I chose defender of Ulthuan in my current game, and have been pretty happy with it. Tyrion is pretty strong as it is, so I believe the murderblender and God talk I'm hearing.

If you go Bloodline of Aenarion, Tyrion will do over 800 damage per attack. Most units do not have 800 health. So it's mainly if you want Tyrion to be able to solo just about a any tough boss or lord in the game.

That's the thing, you don't need that. Against the AI you can already win with a decent army. You don't need an auto-win unit. Winning battles is not the hard part.
Fielding multiple armies, covering enough ground, building a good economy. These are the important things you need in a campaign. So Defender of Ulthuan is without a doubt superior.

Wait, are the two lines mutually exclusive? Sorry for the dumb question: I am not that far into the High Elf campaign yet.

Defender all the way, public order and upkeep is just too darn crucial to be ignored in higher level difficulties.

Lower level public order and upkeep is not detrimental issue so you probably can choose the bloodline but defender's economic bonus would still have more positive impact.

Btw maybe offtopic, but can someone confirm that lothern or order of loremasters still doesn't change name to high elves when make confederation with someone?
