How large should Kroq's army be? With 1-2 provinces, I only have enough income for around 16-17 units (not even a full stack.
On VH, with anoter stack, it'll be worse. 15% additional upkeep for all units
instead of taking the undead crater province raid it\sack it - use money to build up your jungle. money is expensive in early game so don't overexpand. build your first province to full tier 3 at least before taking the second one.
do not get any skink units. all you need in the first 30-40 turns are just buttloads of saurus with shields. this is especially true for kroq-gar since undead can't challenge your army ranged capability - not having one is not an issue
