I like playing Lizardmen but have not yet tested Mazdamundi in ME and Kroq Gar has a terrible starting position.
zhufbar destroys undead and then marches west - ends up living in the WE magical forest.
karak hirn goes south. karak ziflin marches on bastonne on turn 5. greybeard prospectors unite with araby bretonnians and demolish undead there. dwarfs from the spine of sotek go to war with purple lizardmen (forgot the name) and just jump them to death.
also beastmen seem to be doing very well in ME. dunno why though. nothing changed about them really. it might be down to buffing ambush. not sure
Being safe is relativ, I find playing Undead generally safe since corruption can kill alot, or playing a faction which is generally stronger, but Kroq Gar he starts in such a dead end you can only head one direction before you can do some variation to gameplay. I mean you carve a path through Skaven/Undead more Skaven or Undead and then some more before you can even start to choose what to do next. Only alternativ is going straight north and fight some dwarfs.
On my last campaign i left the Empire unchecked and now it holds control over more than 70 cities including the whole of Norsca. Most of their armies including various combinations of black powder units.
I understand that everything is relativ, and that every faction has its limits and options and most logical choices its just the ratio of how I enjoy Lizardmen / Kroq Gar and his starting position being the literal butt of the map.
in short: no, primal instincts are not a big deal. primal rage is a bit harder to control though (as in you can't control it)
Thanks man good to know
I've found rampage to be more of a blessing than a curse. It essentially makes units ignore leadership loss, which results in troops who will dish out way more punishment than they otherwise would. Even if they DO route they will instantly rampage again once they rally so it cuts down on micro and allows you to concentrate on the important stuff.
I'd actually rank blessed saurus above blessed temple guard any day.
