what turn does Chaos show up in the ME campaign?

Did you get chaos notification? It depends on how successful you are in the difficulty.

Mine didn't show up till after turn 160. I think the default has been moved to later than in TWW1, so unless you get really successful and it triggers it the default I think I read somewhere is between turns 160 and 190.

its set to show up depending on your imperium value which was a mechanic introduced in Rome 2 and still exists in this game only its hidden from the player. The penalties it provides can still be seen in diplomacy though. the level of imperium is basically determined by how many battles you win or lose and how many settlements you own by how many turns. like if you own 20 settlements by turn 50 Chaos will show up on the turn end. but if you turtle and expand extreemely slowly you can get away with more settlements before Chaos shows up. Chaos can show up anytime after the Chaos stirrs event.

I am on turn 160 roughly and I am fighting the third wave, so the first wave I think came at 60, like many have said it depends on how succesful you are and how much territory you have, I expanded fast and was doing great til the third wave which respawned the 3 minor chaos factions I had destroyed in the second wave and gave them each 6 stack armies so I had to literally try and fight 18 full 20 stack armies with the best troops at which point I quit, that is not possible even with the amount of armies I had at strength 1. They all moved together and the game became impossible.

What strength ranking are you? and have you not had any notifications about the Chaos coming etc. ?
and it might be you need more provinces, I think I had 5-6 before it happened but not sure, Some say it didnt start for them until turn 150. SO i think if you have not hit a high enough imperium level that it just starts happening between 150-160 if I am not mistaken.

The end of my campaign arrived at turn 100, though I only realized it would end when another 6 stacks spawned around turn 120.

Do yourself a favour and download the no chaos invasion mod.

This explains why no chaos for me.

At turn 140 of VC and only have 2.5 provinces since I've been waaghing with the dwarfs for 100 turns of protracted wagh

They are annoying af. Hard counter to VC zombies and they have 5 stacks with regiment of renown just on my border constantly besieging my main settlement. I was on a good path moving south west until they confederate the dwarfs I was friends with and immediately went to war with me.

Took a while to build up my buildings (all maxed now). And I've lost a couple armies from stupid moves playing cat and mouse on the campaign map. I will get there. They have dropped from 1 to 5 strength rank and now I have my 2 full elite armies (like almost all vargeists and heavy cav) and can field an army of chaff

that's only 11 settlements man you need way more.
