Malekith: better on a black dragon?
As the title says, is Malekith all round better on his black dragon? I kind want to see him lop off some heads...

Why shouldnt he be? You can pick your engagements easily. Also any flying mount on a caster is great. Dont engage halberds/spears and you are fine.

Sure he is.
First you you are faster. Can kill the enemy Ranged units with spells without having to deal with the Infantry.
You got a Breath attack that does alot of dmg.
You are stronger in close combat with a Dragon
You can fly over City walls or kill the Archers on the Walls.

While probably better on a dragon, I actually like him on a chariot. It boosts his armour through the roof. With his AOE drain spell he becomes nigh unkillable. Only downside is he can't fight on walls.
On Seraphon he is great. I've had him alone destroy about four phoenixes and two eagles at the same time, and he barely took any damage.

He seems to lose to Tyrion 1v1 on foot but on a dragon he does far better. Dunno if that proves anything the AI is generally pretty bad at using their lords and heroes efficiently.

he kills fully geared Tyrion 1v1, who supposed to be the best warrior in the game. So ye, Dragon is a must.
on a dragon he becomes a very weak target for ranged units though as they can't miss - ohh how many heroes and lords on large hitbox mounts i killed in less than 5 seconds with 4-6 archer units. hence why i never like to put heroes or lords on mounts as i think they become weaker

I think a death hag on cauldron is pretty stong though, although I havn't really tested it. She just seemed a bit tougher on a blood cauldron

Generally the mount option furthest down the mount tree is going to be one of the better skill perks to pick up for any lord. Only 2 reasons to go into battle without a mount are when the enemy is fielding loads of anti-large units, or in very rare occasions during siege battles.

Im not the type to use magic Im not into fantasy. If you put him on the dragon focus on his fighting/defense stats when using skill points. Let Malekith lead the way and equip healing potion or one of your best health regeneration potions use him distracting the enemy fighting them all at once by himself then bring up rest of your army and surround the blob fighting Malekith then fly him out. Malekith level 40 if you unlocked the right skills is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ badass on a dragon fighting everyone at once.

His magic is insane though, he will reg get 500-600 kills per battle by himeself using spells

No other hero comes close to his killing power, Mazdamundi only ever gets 50-100 and thats at his best

he is but that is only because he uses magic.

Dragons are to easy to shoot down to be usefull in melee combat.

Best idea is to have the two mounts available, you can use chariot for example against high elves archers (to evade their long range concentrated damage), but Seraphon is better in most other cases, when flying is an advantage. I like Malekith to engage en melee, he is awesome for destroying enemy lords and many other units, and for this I prefer the chariot which adds a massive charge bonus, but alternating mounts can also be fun.

Technically yes, but there's downsides--that have been listed here--and keeping them on foot makes their upkeep more managable.

Yes on foot he is also great. Just less tanky and slower.
