No pre-ME save works... only new games.
BTW, think about it....reinstalation of a game (or steam) does nothing as far as a fix is concerned. All these files are saved locally (your system) and don't go back to a fix-it warehouse. Whatever errors exist in the files simply go along for the ride, sad to say. It is primarily a waste of time. If you can launch a new game, then you're good to go. I have had this situation myself (bad saves), but if the base-game files were ok and I could launch a new game, I was happy, because I have had the game firles themselves get corrupted, and that is another kttle of fish. Those saves are just best deleted.
Sry...I probalby didn't say anything you wanted to hear...
Only idiot are you.Because you are talking about something aboslutely different and this problem has not been reported since day one of W1. OMG
For those who still have this problem I found a solution and wrote it on CA forum https://forums.totalwar.com/discussion/205755/after-mortal-empires-update-game-crashes-while-loading-campaign-from-old-saves#latest
But I can quote myself here too:
"Guys I am not sure if you noticed but I found temporary solution to this problem. If you dont mind not to have Mortal Empires and you prefer to finish your ongoing campaign just allow beta updates and let it download and install.
You will be able to play your old saves again.
Or another idea comes into my mind. Maybe it would be worth trying to change language(localisation) to English as this problem is most probably caused by localisation."
This will downgrade your game to 1.0.0.
BTW I have czech localisation too.
I have a Dwarf campaign that's around turn 190 now, and strangely, any saves around turn 180 load fine / I can start new campaigns and play custom battles without any issue. However, when I try to play my Dwarf campaign on any save past 190, it crashes.
What's even weirder is that if I load a save around, 180, for example, I can play until turn 200 without any issue. It's when I save, exit the game, and try to load anything past turn 190 that the game refuses to play.
Bizarre. Wasn't having this issue at all before.
I can CONFIRM THIS WORKS. Just switch to english in your steam library and the old saves load just fine. It is 1,3GB update though.
Thanks for the idea.
