Call of warhammer vs total war warhammer
What do you guys think which ones is the better warhammer game or it isn't possible to compare a full game to a mod.

i find medieval 2 too boring now, cavalry charging feels so lame in the mod.
This game is the better choice, but i dont think you should be comparing a full game to a mod of a very old game

Me too but there are still people who prefer med 2 over everything else which I cannot understand. They say the charges were much better but I highly disagree there tww is way surperior there.

But in my opinion the only two things CoW does better is, its free and more races, currently!

They just praise medieval 2 because the expansion brought a lot of content, but this game for me is far beyond medieval 2 and call of warhammer

+5

Also never go to the commentsection on moddb and talk about tww. You will be immidiatly be crushed to death, no one even tries to do a normal conversation there.

It's also funny when some people claim the models there are even better then in tww. ♥♥♥♥♥?

There are ways in which M2TW was a better game than its successors, but the more modern ones bring so many QoL features and so much streamlining that overall they provide the better experience.

M2 is stuck with that old clunky interface and controls, things like self-replenishing units weren't in yet. But then again TWW has the worst sieges in the whole TW series and city development has the depth of a teaspoon.

I wish they'd combine the former depth of the campaign map layer with the streamlining of functionality of the modern series. As for battles I'd prefer the visuals of the new with the pace of the old.

Some people have very odd tastes, I don't think I could see a mod for a game made in 2002 over a full game that promises so much like TW:W II.

Is this a serious question?

Good points there, especially the sieges. I'm actually ok with them because the AI works better. Yes I would love the reintroduction of features like food supply, politics, loyality, etc.

Jep because there are still people (not me!) who actually thinks CoW is much surperior then TWW.

People who thinks Medieval 2 is superior definitely needs to break out of their shell. I guess people who have big ego and pride wont admit that the latest titles of TW series is better. Or they're just dissapointed with Rome 2 release. "Game is getting dumb'd down everytime! Boo!"

But again, some people cant accept changes.

additionally, i have seen some comments made on medieval community.
"I like how the camera works, and it is better than the new one". Can't help but laugh. It's like, people now use Smart phones for ease and access but you're stuck using fire signal like the indians did.

It's amazing for what it is, the beginnning of the end times mod is just about the extent of modding possible for MTW2. The original CoW mod is what got me into Warhammer actually. Comparing it to this game isn't very fair tho, if you compare the actual features.

I would like the higher settlement count in the CoW mod tho, especially in the empire, which feels a bit empty as it only has the biggest cities mostly, etc.

haha I have to change the camera controls to WASD to make the camera only tolerable in MTW2..

This!
Haha yes me too. The terrible camera control is the thing I don't play the older titles anymore.
And yeah, I accept the thing with streamlining for tww but definetly not for games like rome2 or even attila because they are waaaaay more complex then previous titles.

Yeah thats true its a great mod itself. You can see the love the developers put into the mod. After the announcment of tww I played CoW too which brings me into the warhammer fantasy setting. Yes the higher amount of settlments is also great but I think they gave the empire just more love then other races. Tww has a lesser amount but more balanced imo.

yah I suppose I like the Empire alot, and I played them the most then dwarfs. I hope someone figures out how to add settlements to teh campaign map or even edit it to make it more detailed for hardcore Warhammer fans like me
