Dark Elves Assassins - Missile Hero? WTF?!
I don't get why CA decided to make pure-melee assassins into hubrid of Assassins and Shades? Da hell is that?!

I think they're hybrids in the same way as Glade Lords. I remember they had ranged attacks in Mark of Chaos too so I don't think they're pure melee either.

Even arts from rule books depicts Assaassins as dual-wielded melee fighters.
The Khainite Assassin? I'm looking at its entry in the 8th edition army book and it was armed, by default, with a Hand Weapon and throwing weapons, so it was a hybrid on tabletop (its Weapon Skill and Ballistic Skill were both at 9 which is ridiculously-good and supports it being good at both melee and range).

Weapon-wise it could be upgraded to wield either an additional hand weapon or a repeater handbow. Just looking at this things entry in the army list section at the back of the book practically screams hybrid hero.

All that I found as available range weapon for assassins is are throwing blades:

Well I've found your first problem - that's from Age of Sigmar, not Warhammer Fantasy 8th edition (the latter is what TW: Warhammer is being primarily based on - Age of Sigmar's setting is after the Warhammer Fantasy one was completely obliterated).

This[s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com] is their army list entry in the 8th edition Dark Elf army book.

Now I see a Repeater as possible weapon.
But:
1. I watched FC edition before End of Times.
2. Also game Events in TW: Warhammer are about time period before End of Times or in it, but not after, not in Age of Sigmar.

I'm confused. Why CA using AoS definitions when games is about previous era?

What do you mean? They're not using anything from AoS. The unit in the Dark Elf Roster (or at least on the roster posted on CA's own blog[www.totalwar.com]) is listed as a Khainite Assassin, same as what I posted the pic of. And AoS' Dark Elf Assassin uses the same model as the Khainite Assassin because it hasn't received a re-design yet.

EDIT: And what do you mean by "FC" edition?

I mistyped FB.
Strange that your screenshot taken from 8th is not the same that I took also in 8th edition... Hm
The one you posted came from Age of Sigmar - that was when they shifted over to that style of stat notation, with the blue disc on one end. Biggest give away though is replacing Weapon Skill and Ballistic Skill with straight "number to beat" values - that was one of the myriad of mechanical differences between Warhammer Fantasy and Age of Sigmar.

EDIT: Right up until it's cancellation, Warhammer Fantasy always used the classic unit stats of Movement, Weapon Skill, Ballistic Skill, Strength, Toughness, Wounds, Initiative, Attacks and Leadership. The streamlining of that system evident in the stats you posted is something they didn't do until Age of Sigmar rolled around.
