Report a translation problem
I remember Everquest - Landmark had terrain that you could dig into, but it would gradually regenerate itself unless a structure was blocking it. This meant people got trapped if they tunneled for a long time, but they could just dig their way back out.
The issue I see with that solution is that people trying to terraform for building, or to just make their surroundings fit what they want, wouldn't be able to do so if the terrain kept coming back.
This would ofc be a SP solution.
This would make an allready small map, tiny, so imo it would be a bad idea.
