Controller Not Working

I bought this for my kids and the game doesn't work, at all, with a controller. I thought that maybe it needed to be set up in the settings but that's not the case. I have an Xbox 360 controller and it works with every game except this one. It's like there's nothing there.

add new command set to Enter.
Y = Letter F

LB = Right Mouse Button
RB change behavor to "Press" and = "Mouse Wheel down"
RB add new command set to "Release" and = "Mouse Wheel up"

Menu button = Escape

None of the other suggestions could get the game to work with an Xbox One controller in 2024. The game does not seem to support the controller natively, even though the dev has claimed it does.

The info provided in this post worked perfectly for me, today 05.02.2024

playing the game on Epic, I can say, that putting my Controller (EasySMX X10) into wired Direct Input Mode works flawlessly with the game. The Game does not support X-INPUT in my case and others mentioned here, which will be the standard mode of communication for most newer Gamepads.

Most modern Controllers should have an Option to put them into Direct Input instead of the XBOX related X-INPUT Mode. I would also disable Steam Input from the Game's Options in the Steam Library in that case.

There were Emulators around to emulate X-INPUT on older Direct Input Gamepads:

Of course you can use Steam Input to remap the Keayboard Keys on your X-INPUT Gamepad, if there should be no D-INPUT Option, as mentioned in the post above.

If you play on another platform, adding the Executable file to your Steam Library as "Non Steam Game" did not give me Steam Input Options, I could not activate it for the game in the overlay. Maybe there is a way to do this, that I am not aware of.
Otherwise something like reWASD should help you out in those cases too.
