You need to be connected to the same IP adress as all of the family members, as far as I can tell.

In short - this restrictions is not THAT necessary, and I hope they will be changed soon (and at all). This function was used - and still is, - not only by families, but friends and close ones, and in our century it's not especially under one roof and one place. It is NOT intended as friend sharing, but within Family, hence the name. it was NEVER intended for sharing games with friends and is technically a breach of the TOS..

You're wrong, you can share with friends and family on old sharing, this is from steam official faq on old sharing page,

"Can all Steam games be shared with friends and family?
No, due to technical limitations, some Steam games may be unavailable for sharing. For example, titles that require an additional third-party key, account, or subscription in order to play cannot be shared between accounts. "

You're right if it's the new steam families share, if that's the case I'm sorry. I also don't have family, my friends are my family and they should just remove sharing entirely if that's their intend because only 10% of people really use it for their real families from my experience.

You are just hurt about that and I pointed out on multiple times, if something Valve offers something nice and does not enforce it technically, it will be exploited as hard as it can.

The new Family Sharing is one of the results of that.

Also, the amount of people doing it or saying x people are doing it, it does not make something right, especially if you are trying to give your arguments "weight".

This message is interesting, because it looks like that there is some account activity monitoring in place which compares said account with the Steam Family group accounts if they are in some sort of proximity or not.

i have read the description and they havent changed it since the feature was announced so im pretty sure the sharing works fine until people are from same country cz people are using it from different parts of country.

Any info when family share is going to be on Steam Deck Stable build? Can't find any info on it and not going to install beta cause it usually ducks up something.
