So you didn't actually READ the Advanced Access description, did you? It's not Early Access. Or demos. It's like the 48-hour pre-launch full access to the game. That obviously counts as playtime. If you don't like it *during the advanced access of the full game*, you can still get it refunded. You just had EARLY access to the full game before its official launch.

I love when the lovely idiocy of the PC Gaming Community shows it's true colors, Refund Policy "Abuse" which I use that term loosely because only a very small amount of people tend to Abuse the policy, I find it stupid when people think that wanting a refund is a crime, Yes, Abusers to it shouldn't get their money back. But if a game that you play isn't what you thought it was, and you've given it a fair chance, which a fair chance would be between 4-5 hours, You should be allowed to refund the game if it is either Busted, Boring, Or you just aren't enjoying it. I get sick of people thinking it's wrong to want a refund, if you don't want to see a spike in Refunds, how about offering a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ demo? Do you guys remember when "AAA" to "AAAA" developers would have demo's to showcase their games in case you played it and decided this wasn't for you? Yeah, when console were better and so was PC Gaming, Gaming as a whole just kinda sucks balls now, You can easily be scammed out of money now by a (just for example) a mega glorified company who has a blind fanbase that promises a wonderful Space Exploration RPG that has so many planets with so much to do in them and promises to deliver on every single circumstance despite at launch when called the game out with fair reasoning but people already played way too much of (Which I will say this too my dying day, not one person on planet earth is going to know whether they like an "RPG" or not within 2 hours) If you don't agree I really do not care, I've kinda just started seeing the cancer that is at least 15% of the gaming community that want to attack anyone for having an opinion, but unfortunately for you, your words fall on blind eyes, I never check these post or messages that people reply to me anyway because you aren't worth my time and effort because no matter what I say to defend my reason you will continue to argue for absolutely no reason whatsoever.

Advanced Access is a feature that allows users that have pre-purchased a game to play prior to the game's official release. For example, a "deluxe" pre-purchase version may include Advanced Access.

Unlike Early Access, Advanced Access is not a unique model of development for a game, it's simply an opportunity to play a game before it fully releases on Steam.

What part of that "isn't a good thing"? It's pre-launch full access to THE FULL GAME. Up to 48 hours before its official launch date. Not Early Access. ADVANCED access. To the full game, not a Work In Progress. The FULL game. Of course that playtime counts.

I think you might be misunderstanding something here..

They specifically mention it as "Advanced Access" to avoid people thinking it's about their Alpha/Beta program (read: Steam Early Access) - which it is not.

It's for games that sell X amount of earlier access to a game, if you pre-order or buy some higher edition of a game.

Before this change, if a game had a 7-day period that you got access to with a pre-order or deluxe edition; you could refund the game at any point until it launched. Even if you had 50+ hours, as those hours wasn't counting towards the refund timer..

It has nothing to do with EARLY ACCESS GAMES.
It is about *pre-launch advanced access to the full product before its official launch date*.
