• puts 12 games in the list
I like the new Steam Charts namely the top weekly sales are going to be an interesting metric to keep an eye on. Nice to see it in action with a new game, Slime Rancher 2 being 4th atm weekly.
The section TOP SELLING GAMES shouldn't include free games because currently on the main Steam Charts page Lost Ark is the "top selling" but its a free title next to EA SPORTS™ FIFA 23 at place number 2, a paid title. Maybe splitting it into Top Free and Top Paid like how the top new releases section has the top free-to-play category would be a good idea. And yeah August top 20 has 12 items in it, that should probably be looked into.
disgusting
Only shows me one game(?!?!)
This feature is as broken as the new store categories.
I personally think its good to have a comparison between both, so you can see that premium titles on Steam can still hold up pretty well to the modern market strategies (f2p) and that the below the Top 10 the majority of games are premium games.
Lost Ark just released a new class and does have a temporarily boost in sales and player numbers. Its in general very stable in its popularity and is present in the Top 10 every day and week in the statistics.
I personally use the weekly sales list to have a good overview over a longer timespan.
It will be interesting to see if Lost Ark can hold onto a Top 5 spot.
In any case it shows that MMOs can still be very popular and profitable today.
