It's simple. You don't have to jump ship. If they won't listen to the people that are paying their paychecks, then stop. Anyone not happy with this latest so called "UPGRADE" like I am total not, then just stop buying anything new until they fix the problem. I think that will make them stand up and notice. Just play the games you already have with steam, assuming that you can log into steam with out it crashing as it does for me about half the time. I have almost 300 games in my library. That will keep me going for a long time. Besides you can always buy your game else where and activated on steam later if you wish, at least you could in the past, not sure if they stopped that too. Then if things don't improve it might just be time to say good bye to steam. I hope it doesn't come to that, I've been with steam for 14 years and been mostly happy, but if they are going to start forcing stuff down are throat and expect us to like it they will not like the outcome. Give us the option to use the old format and fix all the bugs that your "UPGRADE" has caused for so many. Man up, admit you screwed up, and make your "PAYING CUSTOMERS" happy again.

If you continue using the client you are still using their broken resource hog of a client. Refusing to buy new games is one thing, stopping using their client at all sends a much more severe message.

Keep in mind Steam tracks concurrent users and touts that number to encourage developers to sell here instead of say Epic. They also use it to encourage investment and to bring in new users.

If suddenly half of the users simply uninstalled steam and went elsewhere, Valve would be left in a very bad position and considering the contempt they are showing users, they might just deserve that.

Okay, so I was patient. I expressed my opinion (please make the changes optional) and then waited. I figured, there was the holiday and then the weekend and then it might take a day or two but eventually, we'd see some sort of response to the overwhelmingly negative feedback about the new Library page.

So... It's been a week and... nothing? Not even a fix for the "mouse over to view" bug (which is an embarrassingly bad glitch for an update of this scale). Do you have so little respect for your customers that you can't even say "we're looking into your concerns"?

Pretty much everyone is asking for the opportunity to revert to the old library. If not that, then for the ability to pick and choose from the new features instead of having them all jammed down our throats. I'm assuming that when you launched this update (despite feedback from the beta testers if the comments here are to be believed) you thought "oh, don't worry, people will complain a bit and then get used to it". Honestly, I'm baffled by this lack of respect for your users.

Take a look at who you are dealing with. We are not mobile phone mommies. We are not console kids. We are PC GAMERS . The need to mod/tweak/configure everything to be exactly the way we like it is our birthright. If somebody wants huge blurred icons for their library, that's great, let 'em have them. But, if they want a simple list without an ad banner at the top then they should also be able to have that. How can you not see this?

Please take the time to at least address what is going on with regards to the new Library page and the outcry it has triggered. If your position is "shut up, no changes" then have the courage to say that out loud. If you're working on an update that will fix some of the issues, let us know that is happening. Just being quiet and waiting for things to blow over is not a strategy that shows any respect for the Steam community.

From what I understand, valve lost a case in france where the players got a right to sell their games to other players. So, instead of being smart and charging a selling fee for players that wanted to sell their games to others, they went full r3t@rd and started setting up for a MORONIC streaming service.
It's like they have no imagination in how to deal with problems and keep everyone happy.
They're doing this out of pure spite, they've done this sort of stuff before

I really don't care for this new Library layout, it causes my client to freeze multiple times and then my games disappear each time. I always have to find the Steam icon in the hidden taskbar icons and launch my games from there by right-clicking. :steamsalty:

Hmm... I would like to see how this whole thing plays out before making drastic measures.
Same. But Steam is getting so much dubious lately that i will probably be on deck ready to jump at any little official crack.

I am ready anytime. Already have acc open and ready on other clients. At that time is only left to pick the best option for me.

I really don't mind it. I'm serious. They can have my whole library of games. I don't care. I spend money on worse things in life.

And no, I don't think it will be crash of PC gaming. There are others to pick up. Actually Epic can't wait enough if we are being honest.
Nobody's going to be in the mood to buy games again after having wasted all that money
and you broke my skin again....

Well, I have 20 games on my Epic acc that I got for free. And those are really good games. Actually I got even those I was planing to buy or already have here on Steam.

So, people will pirate (GO AHEAD AND GIVE ME WARNING FOR USING IT!) a bit for a while. It won't be the first time. People were saying the same after GFWL went down. Do you know how many retail games with that code I have on my shelf collecting dust. Over 100!

I don't think you are giving this the importance it has to some like myself. The only reason I bought so many games on steam was because I felt they would be permanently available.

I might buy a few games digitally but going forward I will be looking at hard copy CD's, so long as I care for them they can't be taken away by one company, being invested in steam the way I have been now looks like a very bad mistake.
Thanks! I hate it.

This sucks. What were you thinking?
Oh I know newer games force you into one launcher or another but I don't think I will be buying newer games going forward. I have a list of older games I will be getting hold of to play whenever the mood takes me but I will not be participating in this market until it collapses and or becomes consumer friendly.

So long as I have ff7 and 8 I can pretty much cope without for a few years.

But in that case, why not go GOG. Once you buy it it's yours. Those are DRM-free.

That is a serious consideration but I don't really know if I can trust that at this point. I considered valve beyond reproach and trusted them 100%.

Thank you for the advice, it might be apparent but this really has upset me on many levels.
