Missing file, game wont run, Windows 7 64bit and later solution.

So my friend got new PES and it did not work. I asked him to run the game exe from steamapps/common as administrator to see if that will make it work.

It did not work but at least he got an error for a missing DLL:
api-ms-win-crt-convert-l1-1-0.dll
Looking for the file a bunch of links to steam showed up and few websites that offer the DLL in question. You probably should never try downloading DLL file from 3rd party websites and instead install them the proper way.

This is the solution we found while reading other games steam forum:

edit: you can choose the right language version for your OS.

Alternative is to run Windows update and have it get all the things for your that you are missing or are out of date.

This only solves that one missing file, but it might help find solution from other problems if you run game exe as administrator.

Oh, I updated the first link to display English website. Update itself looks to be only english version.

ive tried reinstalling windows C ++ 2015, redownloading the game, validating files, clearing download cache, running EXE as admin, downloading the .dll file and still cant seem to launch the game :(

I would just open windows update and get all the things it has to offer there. Keep your system up to date. Unless its something drastic like going from 8.1 to 10.

That list from above contains all the systems from vista to 8.1 - x86 for 32bit OS and x64 for 64bit OS.

What version of Windows are you using and have you ever done Windows update?

Darn. What you might need first is updated version of Windows Installer or something similar to actually make the update from first post work.

Check if you have SP1 installed in Win7. You should have it.

Not sure why you cant. Only idea is that you are either not an administrator (low chance unless you have more than 1 user account) or your anti-virus blocks it for some reason.
Did you restart after installing first fix?
