Can't get past loading screen

Solution found thanks to Jamie:

- Go to your Steam folder where PES 18 is installed
- Inside the PES 18 folder double-click the Settings.exe
- Go to the Online tab
- Disable "auto"

For me the PES 18 Settings.exe is in:
D:\Steam\steamapps\Common\PRO EVOLUTION SOCCER 2018

So just look in your Steam folder where PES 18 is installed, double click "settings.exe", go to the Online tab and uncheck Auto.

Now PES 18 will finish loading and let me play offline.

Game starts, "Press Button to Continue", black screen, then I see the pitch in the background and the loading icon bottom left, wait forever and nothing else ever happens.

So basically the game won't load. This is happening on my desktop and laptop, and after complete reinstall of the game. Seems to be at the time it use to try to connect to the servers.

Anybody experienced this or have a solution?

I've got a ticket open with Konami Support but so far they're giving me standard "Update your windows and drivers" replies.

(Also, game was working fine for me last week)

I'm surprised I'm not seeing more information about this issue with PES 18. Before contacting Konami support and posting here I did a lot of digging but can't find anything describing this issue.

I didn't really have a problem with them shutting down online support, I don't care about that part of the game, although it seems kind of ridiculous to shut down servers in 2019 for a game that has 2018 in the title.

But just simply not being to start my 2018 game in 2019 is ridiculous. And if this isn't solved, I'm not really interested in supporting the franchise by buying a newer version that I wasn't ready to buy yet.

Don't want to support FIFA either so it's seeming like I won't be playing any digital soccer for a while.

By the way I replied to the Konami Support ticket on Monday or Tuesday and they still haven't gotten back to me.

I'll let everyone know so far: I still haven't found a solution, and haven't heard back from Konami either. Last time I tried their online support, the pages wouldn't even resolve lol. I'll try contacting them again this week. .

I've written their customer service again and still haven't received a response.

They responded, this is a separate ticket from that original one and this agent seems to be taking it more seriously. I gave as much information as possible and will update again when I hear back.

Btw my PES18 has the Barcelona DLC package and so am wondering if all of you experiencing this issue have the same DLC, or the base game, or perhaps a different DLC?

I had this problem, it was resolved for me by going into the out-of-game settings (run 'settings' in the game folder) and disabling the 'auto' option in the network page. The game complains that it can't contact the servers but loads and plays fine.

I tested it out and it's still working for me. Sounds like yours is just crashing when you say "in a flash". Have you tested on a different computer?

mine is working fine, even after the servers came down. i had mine on custom settings. i miss my pes league but manager and playing home games works well too. does any one know if pes 2019 is any good?
