How does the mod/patching work for PES
Does the community request a team/kit and the modders make it?

Or does the mod community just make want they want?

Also can modded team and kits be used online.

Hello Goldeneye! Let me introduce you to the PES Mods & stuff.
First of all let's start with the "main" PES patchers, which are the following ones:

Professional Patch [www.pesprofessionals.com]
PTE Patch [ptepatch.blogspot.com.ar]
SMoKe Patch [www.pessmokepatch.com]
Galaxy Patch [pesgalaxy.com]

Each one of those, basically, make your team fully licensed and much more real. Each patch has their own style, this means that the owners and creators of theses patches make their kits, their new faces, their boots, everything. So you will have to select one and install it (it's pretty easy tho).
Patching PES is something common nowadays because KONAMI doesn't own a lot of licenses so patching it will solve this problem, as well, you can search and use the mods that you prefer, or using your own mods (if you create one). The most known page is "PES Patch"[pes-patch.com]" In this website you can find almost every mod that's is out for PES 2018. You can also look for mods of PES 17-16-15 etc.

About Online...
If you play with the mods as they are, you'll probably get banned, because there are some files which are modificated that alterate the original files of PES, so (tho you aren't cheating, you'll get banned). But don't worry.
All the patchs to install their mods use a folder called "download" in which they can use their mod files and non-original files are modificated, so you can remove the mod when you play online and that's it! Safe!
Talking about this I REALLY recommend you to try PTE Patch out
This patch allows you to select if you want to play Offline licensed or Online Licensed. So you can still have team licenses while playing Online!
Also I recommend you to check out this youtube channel (Del Choc)
This guy helps you to install PTE Mod, so you can install it without problems! Very specific instructions :)

That's it! I hope this help you to decide either buying the game or not!

Hello Bishop! Yeah for sure! I recommend you again, using pes-patch por all the mods you need. You should search on Youtube as well, so you can see the preview in-game of any stadium you wan to add, if you have the PES 2017 and want to add some new stadiums I recommend you the Dony Avia's ones because that pack of stadiums comes with 7 stadiums with external looks (like PS4, for PC) :D
If you want to go deep about this add me and we can chat! :)

Woah playing online with mods could get you banned? I didn't know that. Is it a perma ban or at least can you appeal it?

I think you might get banned! I think it's a perma ban. Tho you can still use mod addons, there somethings that are restricted, some of them you can edit them. Use PTE Patch that allows you to play Online with licenses and no ban risk!

Hmmm ok. I'll have to look out for that when 18 comes out. Do the patches also fix national teams?
