Final mission question
Can you move the bomb into lava? or it just dies instantly?

you can, but it does die instantly
anything that doesn't have the «giant» trait can't survive in water or lava

Note that the bomb being destroyed isn't a game over, they just send another bomb with a new timer. So it's bad but not game over bad. I have never bothered to see if they send a third bomb, but considering the renfield bomb mission only has two, I think it's only two, who knows, it might be worth a look.

People have tested; there are endless bombs to go through. The only penalty is the turn-timer.

The final mission can only end in failure through the loss of all grid/mechs, or in success by a Renfield bomb detonation.

That's a bit silly, though it's good to know. Damn Renfield must have put the Manhattan project to shame during the cutscenes!

Then again, if you're hoping for a third or fourth bomb, you're probably pretty messed up in terms of grid or mech so...

One time, a bomb got destroyed from enemy attack and the old hag sends another, but that one gets destroyed shortly after and made turns last for 7 rounds all on the same turn. It was a really long fight with barely one power source left, but eventually won.

My most memorable victory on Hard was a desperate struggle with only 2 mechs (entirely my fault as I accidentally left one of them on a "death square" at the end of round one due to an oversight) and 1 grid power. Since I didn't want to put my salvation into the finicky hands of RNGesus, I ended up sacrificing a lot of Renfield bombs (4-5 IIRC) - even deliberately putting some into enemy line of fire for blocking shots - to save my other resources. In the end I won but it was a hard earned victory indeed, the best kind.
