You shouldn't be buying power since you're already doing a good job of protecting civilians. Hopefully. Of course, if power looks dire and you need it to avoid losing... just don't buy power to boost grid defense except in the case of the one achievement that needs that.
For any leftover rep, check the weapons and passives if they include anything useful for you. Getting an additional weapon or passive can sometimes help you a lot if it synergizes well with your suqad - for example, if you´re playing the Judoka and have to face Worm enemies, it can be a huge benefit if you can grab an additional weapon that deals direct damage. Otherwise I usually look for cheap passives that ideally don´t need reactor cores, like kickoff boosters.
Energy is usually not the best pruchase unless you are really lacking for it or have truly nothing else to spend on. Remember that you have to spend all your reputation as it does not carry over to the next island - but purchased upgrades do. So if you have, for example, only 1 rep left and additional power doenst do it for you, just buy whatever item is on sale and sell it on the next island to spend the rep there.
As you play, try to determine what your weaknesses are and what kind of vek problems you are dealing with such as vek spreading out too much attacking buildings, vek constantly webbing everyone etc and if you see a weapon that can help compensate for this weakness during that playthrough, get it and it may make all the difference between a win and a loss.
Actually lol. Sometimes the best weapon ever shows up like I got that weapon that adds +1 damage to enemies bumping into things during a Steel Judoka playthrough and it was hilariously good synergy.
