I think it can be tempting to freeze the factories, but doing so makes it harder to defend against more Vek spawning in (since they are bulkier than 1-hp bots). As such, I normally let the bots sit a turn (since they do nothing, and they might get hit by a Mirror Mech backshot or by a Vek via repositioning) and I'll freeze a Vek in the meantime. That way, it reduces the amount of spawns for the coming turns, reducing threats and making this objective a lot more manageable.
In general though, I normally try to avoid this specific objective. It can prove to be a bit more difficult than others.
