Into the Breach

DoT dosen't stack. Is this a bug or my misunderstanding?
I am using the Rusted tean and have a Fire Beam on one of my characters. i decided to go for a 1 - 2 punch of fire and smoke on an enemy. I used the Fire beam to light several enemies on fire and then I used the jets jump ability to apply 1 damage and smoke. This left the enemy with 2 HP. I thought the fire damage and smoke damage would be enough to finish him off. To my surprise, the fire didn't proc on the smoked enemy, but did on the other enemies.

I tested it several times and the results were consistant with the first time.

It would seem to me that smoke and fire go well together and the stacked damage would be a natural result. I'm pretty sure smoke dosent negate acid or ice, but I would need to test it to be certain.

This dose allow for a stragety of having a friendly unit "hide" in smoke to avoid damage. (Still needs tested.)

Are you sure you have the passive ability for smoke damage on one of your mechs?
Smoke extinguishes fire, so you just get the lightning damage. If you don't have the lightning upgrade, I believe you get no damage at all. Ice also extinguishes fire, I think water might too.

Thats seem so weird that smoke would do that. I wish there was a popup that said "Fire Extinguished" or something like that.
