Glittering C-Beam
Is there any way to do this somewhat reliably or do you have to pray for 4 enemies to position themselves exactly right so you can set up for a 4-hit laser? Most other squad achievements seem fairly consistent, but this one, at least on Normal, feels a bit RNG-heavy. I managed some 3-hit ones but never got a perfect line of 4. Is it easier to do on Hard (more enemies?)?

Have you tried positioning your mechs so that the enemies line up to attack them? I'm not familiar with that achievement unfortunately but it sounds like that's your only tool. Enemies can't move through your units unless they are flying so you can potentially herd them into a neat row.

Alternatively grab some push/pull weapon secondarys.

You could also potentially use the terrain like mountains or water, or an event like tidal wave which creates a column of water tiles. Enemies won't stand on instakill terrain like water.

edit: Looking it up, it doesn't seem that bad.
Move your mechs such that the enemie is likely to cluster in one area. The probability of there being 2-3 in a row is quite high. Use the charge mech and attraction mech to move the rest into position.

In most of my games 2 in a row happens frequently, and 3 in a row happens sometimes. The only thing you need to do is get them to be close enough that you can make it 4 in a row.
Some other stuff you can try:
Reach the spawn cap so there are more enemies onscreen at once.
Attempt on the final island 2nd stage where the spawn cap is raised.

Hard difficulty mostly spawns more alphas. You could do it on easy as long as you don't kill them all off.

Yeah, this and Trick Shot both SUCKED trying to get. Tip though: You can use the ram tank and the science ship to push and pull enemies into position. Also you only need to HIT them, not kill them like I initially thought,

Yeah I know. It's just that your push/pull capacity is very limited unless you get lucky with weapons, not to mention your Brute/Science classes need to be in the right position beforehand. The teleporter from Flame Behemoths would help a lot.

That is actually what I used in the end to help position them> Got lucky and got the teleporter in the shop. Also, reseting a turn doesn't reset an achievement so if you get a (potential) shot that endangers lives or objectives and you have your resets, go ahead and take it

This one and Trick Shot are highly doable with spider boss. The map is cluttered with 1 hp stuff.

Have you seen the missions in the ice island where a bunch of enemies start frozen? Well if they're frozen in a line you can just walk over and shoot a beam straight through them all to get the achivement. You'd have to deal with a bunch of enemies at once after breaking them out, but as someone previously said here you can just reset the turn.

Thanks for the tips, guys. Will keep those in mind next run. :praisesun:

I did several playthroughs and never got it, so eventually I got lazy and just started and restarted missions on the first island, let all the vek spawn and used my mechs to sort of block them. Killed nothing and just waited until RNG gave it to me.

Took less than 30 minutes and required no effort.

I had a good run with the desert level where there's an open tile and 2 flying Veks 'always' spawn. A few manipulations and I got it.

Got it using this. Just keep resetting run until you get the spider boss and wait for it to spawn a bunch of small ones. It will likely ruin your run since you're letting the boss swarm the arena, but you'll have the achievement easily. Thanks again.

That's where I ended up completing that objective too. I was running three Lazor Primes in a custom team too, trying for other objectives. Gives you lots more opporunity to have one of them in position for a firing solution.

Yes I got the achievement from picking a spider boss as my first island.
