Tried three Jet mechs for maximum hilarity but they have no means of displacement so that run didn't last long.
Not sure if Prospero would count or not, though I'm assuming it won't.
I think one of the achievements is even, win with 3 times the same mech.
Flying's proving to be tougher without tankiness, and 3 Jets wont be a great without that +cloud dmg item.
Heh. Right. I even read that achievement before, it just didn't register.
On the topic of using Prospero to get that achievement, apparently it's a no-go. I used him with his ability powered in a non-flying mech and the achievement didn't trigger.
Interesting. I'll try that next.
Yes, I tried it also. It gets a red cross, right at the start and finishing a mission with him letting the not flying unit fly, doesn't change it either.
Very good call on using three Ice Mechs. Made this a piece of cake AND a two-for-one with the three-of-a-kind achievement.
I've heard triple ice mech does well too.
Having certain pilots that boost reactor, or have an innate attack also helps, but I didn't have these at the time I got the achievement.
Remember, you can blitz things at 2 islands, and sometimes do better.
I started in the Desert Island, lucked out and got the Clouds-do-Lightning-damage item after clearing the island, and upgraded Jet damage first.
Was a tricky run but worked out.
I'm not sure how I feel about Ice, since freezing definitely saved my bacon a number of times, but I feel like there were an equal number of turns where it was busy unfreezing itself. It helped that Ice is strong on the first turn, while Jet and Nano take some time to set up. Ice also got very strong in the last fight, because if you hover over lava it breaks the freeze immediately, so you can shoot every turn.
