As always with things that spawn, it's best to try and kill the spawner first
It's strange that you feel that way. It looks to me that they deliberately tried to keep RNG to a minimum in a lot of situations, so that the player remains in control.
Pretty much every enemy has behaviour that can be exploited to your advantage even before we take the "telegraphed attacks" into account. Melee dudes will try to get into melee range, ranged dudes will try to stay at range. Spiders have no discernible behaviour and don't telegraph their "attacks" (i.e. the egg spawn).
Encountering an Alpha Spider on the first island will likely not play out without any losses, unless the stage is very favorable, or the starting loadout can deal with sticky eggs and hatchlings promptly.
as for the spider i find it is easier if you have the damage every enemy for 1 damage weapons or the air drop bomb so you can do 1 damage to any where on the map those only have 1 charge so kill the spider fast and block enemy entry to lower the chance of encountering spiders
