What's your favorite pilot?
Didn't unlock all of them yet, but my favorites are the armored one and the one that allows to movement freely even between enemies. It's a little worse compared to fly but does not require a power core.

The Zoltan. The constantly regenerating shield is handier than armour when you get deeper into a run and Alpha Vek start showing up. The extra reactor power is handy too.

I have about half off them unlocked and I have two right now.

Gana: Deploying anywhere on the map allow to quickly cover the whole map, opening up new strategies on some map and up to 4 free damage is not a bad thing. It cost one power though so is not that good for a new run but getting him in a pod is great.

Bethany Jones: She starts with a shield that can actually block any amount of damage. Use her in a 2 hp mech and she can actually survive a 3 damage artillery that would have killed her otherwise. As long as it's active it also allow you to place yourself in a fire to get a better shot without any danger.

The Mantis. Replacing repair with a 2 damage melee attack is awesome on the artillery mechs for extra flexibility.

Bethany Jone's shield makes her immune to ice so she is super op with the cryo launcher.

Although my overall favorite is Abe Isamu in any mech that causes self damage.

Henry Kwan. "Move through enemies" is so simple, but so strong.
Camila Vera has been my crutch. I was skeptical that avoiding webbing would be that useful, but it's allowed me to turn around bad situations time and time again.

Archimedes, especially with the Aegis Mech.

Silica. Getting that extra two core to use her ability is a huge task at the beginning, but if you place her in a brute she can just stand there moving things around as if the Hand of God itself were organizing a spice rack.

Mantis is a super high value pilot to make hard to utilize mechs consistently perform well. Mantis replaces the repair ability with a one-tile 2 damage 1 push attack. Unfortunately mine got +3 grid defense on his second level-up so into the trash can with my good old mantis it is.

I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate this 3% grid defense nonsense on characters, I'm not playing ITB to randomly gamble grid power, I'm playing it to deploy wicked tactics. I really hope the dev will remove this obnoxious, cancerous ability. The other implementation of grid defense is fine but come on I need something decent on my pilots, 3% grid defense means nothing.

Archimedes is absolutely OP, even with extra energy cost. Ability to "move -> shoot -> move again" massively increases his flexibility. He synergies with so many mechs and tactics.

His lines are also cute :)

Abe is my favorite, esp when placed in a melee or close range mech, he can take a massive beating and walk away from it just right.

Move through units guy or web and smoke immunity. Depends heavily on the squad I pick and if they have the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ +3 GD.

Archimedes is absolutely OP, I agree. He/it is my favorit in meele mech's because u'r always able to repositioning and defend/block vek spawnings. :catpaw:
