How to repair a mech?
I am probably missing something obvious, but how do you repair a mech during a battle? One of my mechs was at one strength left and I wanted to repair it; it had not moved or taken any action that round.

I selected the little wrench icon, and the mech/tile sort of lit up orange. But no actual repair took place, and hitting end turn gave me the warning that the mech had not used its action for the turn. So apparently this is not the way to do it. What am I missing?

little wrench icon then click on the mech to repair

Press wrench, then click your unit. That'll do it.

Is it possible for one mech to repair another? I was thinking it could only repair itself, thus missing the "click on the mech" step. Thanks!

You can purchase an ability that heals all of your mechs.

There's an item which means "one mech repairing repairs all" and an item which heals all mechs entirely once per battle.

This ability can even repair disabled mech, saving the pilot in it

Sweet, I had no idea.

It still seems odd to me to have to click on the mech after selecting the wrench. Why? The repair gets applied to the mech (or to all, if you have the special), so why the extra step? It is unnecessary, and adds no additional information/selection to the itnerface. I wonder if maybe at one point in development mechs could repair one another, and this is leftover in the interface?

Probably so you have a confirmation step.

@WindsorW, I think it's for the sake of consistency. The other actions during a move require selection then execution.

I think you hit the nail on the head, it would be very annoying to click it by mistake in a game that is so punishing of mistakes.

Possibly. But all the other actions have a target, so selecting something after the initial click makes sense. Repair does not have a target, so it was confusing -- at least to me. Thus this thread. :)

I assumed I could do it on mechs in adjacent squares for similar reasons, I think it's because the cursor is free like one can target things other than ones own mech. I agree with the why they've probably done it this way, it would be very frustrating to accidentally click repair without some for confirmation, but the way it looks is somewhat misleading.
Maybe there are items yet to be discovered that will need it to be cursor based, or there will be items in the future that use that mechanic.
