Separate games question.
Let me start with that I do understand my base game will be updated with Specter of Torment. Okay we got it out of the way.

I was just wondering if as owned of the "whole pack" before split I will get separate clients also? Or do I have to buy them? Yes I do want to own them all and I bought main game before split for this reason (I thought getting all 4 games is confirmed)

Let me see if I can help!

The individual executable games are considered separate from the "whole pack"/Treasure Trove version. If you own Shovel Knight currently it will be updated to Treasure Trove (and all games and modes are selectable from within one executable). You will not receive additional entries on your Steam games list or additional executables for each campaign.

what s point of making standalone dlc? Not sure, if someone will buy it without base shovel knight, as all bonus campaigns are kinda shorter, than shovel knight's

you didnt understand me. I meant not "what s point of making dlc", but "what s point of making standalone dlc". E.g dlc with separate executable, not just paid content for base game

We're focusing on different playstyles with each campaign and some have different focuses (Shovel Knight: Shovel of Hope is co-op, upcoming Battle Mode is up to 4 players, etc). One reason why we're providing an option to split them up is so that people can get whatever version they want for less. If you owned Shovel Knight on a portable system, but just wanted to play co-op with a friend on PC -- you could. Or if you really just wanted to try the latest campaign on a new platform, etc

You're also fragmenting your player base which is the opposite of what most dev's aim for as Shovel of Hope/Battle Mode players won't be able to play with Treasure Trove players due to the different appids.

These multiplayer modes are local play only, but it does unfortunately fragment the community discussions, yes.

For a moment I thought my friend with his 3DS would be capable of playing with me over the net with myself on PC...

Kinda glad I saw the next post. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

So that means no trading cards for early adopters then?
