Most effective Team(s)
I have been using Roland, Evan, and Tami. I mostly control Roland during combat, unlike Ni No Kuni 1 the AI is ridiculously effective.

I tried Bracken in place of Roland briefly but she felt too cumbersome.

Aside from Roland and Evan, the other characters just feel unremarkable. I kept Tami in simply b/c of her plunder, which I confess I hardly ever use even with the steal ring.

Considering people complained about the game being too easy and went ahead proving that with laying the controller down, letting the ai do all the heavy lifting to ultimately still win major fights, shows that you're wrong.

Compared to the first game it's significantly more effective.

Then those people are blatantly lying.
I finished the game,m did tainted creatures, dream door and what have you.
If the ai got 10 strikes in with a boss that took more than 2 minutes (which is rare to begin with seeing the difficulty of the game), that would be considered a blessing.

AI doesn't do anything most of the time, what they DO do however, is good dodging for attacks, gotta give credit for that, they are good at defending and dodging, but attacking? no, no they do not do that a lot.

You can win normal fights by not doing anything. How can you claim people are lying when you are actually able to effectively reproduce that yourself in your game?

If they are not good at attacking how would that even be possible?

Sure, once you got THE OP pets (something dino, the umbral tree thingy, etc.) but before you had some variation of the optimal pets, you actually had to pay attention.

Indeed, so long as the mobs aren't all 10 levels above me, I could go AFK and they will still drop.

Oh? now we are talking regular mobs?
"ultimately still win major fights," what happened to that eh? oh right, then you would LOSE.

I would like to see a video where the AI is taking down the end boss, cmon show me..oh wait you can't? gee i wonder why...

That's still a thing though. Wait, i'll look for it.

Edit: Apparently only the first boss.

Anyway point was and still is the AI being effective which they clearly are regardless of being able to beat a boss on their own.

Which is verifiable btw. The AI beating random encounters on their own is a clear proof of them being effective in combat.

As for bosses being to tough for that. You're right.

To be fair, regular enemies on same level go down in 2 to 4 hits, so it is not a real wonder AI can handle itself :P

This is not considered good ai though, dragon age inquisition for example had a vastly superior AI compared to ni no kuni II. Just saying.

If you played the Sword Art Online games you know what bad party AI looks like. This is slight above average team AI IMO.
