i know that the prequel/1st game in the series die2nite was multiplayer but this sequel is only single player so far and yea i loved die2nite so hype

Tacked on multiplayer is cancer killing singleplayer games. Not only it messes with balance, wich is hard thing to manage as is, but also takes away development resources that should be spent on the game itself.
So yeah hopefully never.

I never heard of it and you didn't provide src, but let's say it's true even though it sounds like total bullsh​it. Yet dc was also supposed to be a tower defense game and the beheaded was supposed to have a bird steaming off the snot[gameplay.tips]. Too bad everything has to be set in stone at the very start, right?

dead cells was going to be a multiplayer tower defense game and im still waiting on them to add multiplayer tower defense mode. it doesnt make sense that the sequel to a 40 player game is now only 1 player
Because if the the same studio releases another game it doesn't automatically make it a sequel?

To be honest, I appreciate Dead Cells' gameplay more than the early screenshots of the tower defense thing (for Android and iOS!).

Do you remember when they used to mention platforms that weren't only Windows?

Having trouble finding a source on this. Mind helping? Far as I can tell it's just the same studio making a separate game.
Die2Nite: A free zombie survival game that is a browser game on top of that.
Dead Cells: Fantasy Roguelike Metrovania game with no correlation to Motion Twin's previous games.

Face it buddy, this game has nothing to do with their other games and HOPEFULLY IT WILL NEVER HAVE A MULTIPLAYER MODE

Without any further ado, we present to you: Dead Cells! This will be our first truly “cross-platform” game which will be available on Android, iOS and the web some time in the coming months.

I think I'd prefer the modern Dead Cells. If they could get Haxe to work, anyway.
Kids and their multiplayer/workshop demands. Some games don't need that crap (except ones that don't want to put localization inside their game, apparently).
The only kind of MP for DC would be to share seeds with your friends to challenge each other like in Binding of Isaac. But maybe that would make it to easy to earn achievments.
Aside from that i agree that Dead Cells doesn't need any kind of MP.
