Top and bottom 3 weapons
The topic says it all. Just a quick thing to throw in to write about your most and least favourite weapons before up 4 hit and rebal everything. Because why not? Btw starters doesnt count. So does weapons that you have unlocked from the start. You need to work your way out of the BP and then realise you wasted your time OR be pleasantly suprised and you will from this point onward pick said weapon even if it kills you. Sometimes literally.

Bottoms:
3. Repeater Xbow. This thing i had huge hopes for. And it turned out to be garbage. Damage is mediocre at best, gimmick is meh, and without anything that restores your ammo bosses are out of the question. And while the last one can be said about pretty much all of the ranged, this one in particular has an issue with ammo.
2. Force Shield. Bare none, the most useless shield in the game. Insert WoW pvp against paladins flashback here. Not to mention, the bubble is really short lived too
1. Lightning Bolt. Yea. So this weapon can and most likely will hurt you. It has a windup, you have to risk to dish out any real damage with that, and to top it all off, you can cast it only in front of you. Let me say it again. A spell that you can shoot only in front of you. Yea, no.

Tops:
3. Meat Skewer. Build in roll, nice moveset, it also kinda homes in on enemies. Its a great weapon.
2. Shovel. Probably the best heavy class weapon in the game. It can throw enemies away. It can throw their projectiles away. It has amazing sweeping moveset. And its fairly quick in comparison to other heavy weapons or even to some swords (im looking at you blood sword).
1. Hayabusa Boots. This is a perfect weapon for me. Its quick, its versatile, its gimmick is insanelly fun and useful. The best weapon in the game as of now.

Lightning bolt yup don't like it. too low in damage puts you at risk always. I don't mind any of the shields tbh I don't use them per say. But I will use them on daily runs as the Incomplete one is a nutter. And the watccher they are more than useful to stop those pesky projectiles.

Meat skewer has to be one of the worse weapons in the game. It puts you out of place and normally right back in danger. I hate it with a passion. Shovel is very useful until you approach the watcher it's damage output is pretty garbage but If I am stuck with it I don't mind it is very versatile. Hayasa boots are pretty much like the dual kunas always get an interupt on the high damage 3rd hit and again against the latter end mobs damage falls off but again I don't worry if I am stuck with it for the only reason at least you can get a few hits on the watcher and avoid the tentacles.

I don't like 98% of the weapons because they are either too slow in wind up or too low damage. You have to have quick kill or movement weapons esp in the spulcher. Weapons like the spears are good against loads of ground mobs but when flyers are involved forget it. whips are mediocre useful to have the crit whip but hit box is very small.. I probably state everytime frantic sword freeze blast and the orange sword with slice slice kick combo. fun wep but those would be my go to weps with possibly oil sword. @ 10 strength plus all the passable dps weapons shine. Everything else If I could I would delete from my wep vault

First of all: I find it quite odd that you put that Meat Skewer in your top three. I find the hitbox way to small for my taste and that dash is more of an annoyance than a convenience.

I'll give you my top three because it's alot easier:

1: War Spear : I gotta say. This weapon feels so powerfull and easy to use. Big hitbox, crits almost always and even if it doesn't it still packs quite a punch. I'll pick it any time i see it on a full Str build.

2: Swift Sword: This weapon is my second go to especially in the early game. While going after timed door, permanent crit is quite nice.

3: Assault Shield: Didn't have a third one and i guess this isn't really a weapon but...
It's the assult shield.. This one explains itself

I don't really dislike any weapon that much but there are some that i'll never use:
But i would choose and shield and bow over these weapons:

1. Impaler
2. Spartan Sandals
3. Spiked Boots

These three weapons makes a start of a run incredibly slow and boring because of their lack of damage.

Best
Spiteful Sword - Recovering health made easy and a stun together? Pogchamp
Impaler - Quick stabs and long range. If I go through the hardest route, this weapon is a confort pick.
Assault Shield - You don't have to premeditate the exact moment the enemy is going to hit you and you can bump him backwards, moreover it damages the enemies even if you don't parry.

Worst:
Quick Bow - Quick way to run out of ammo.
Shove Shield - Meh.
Great Shield - Worst Meh.

Top Three Favorite Weapons

1. Broad Sword

It isn't a great weapon, but it's an absoloute joy to use. I'll take it any chance I get.

2.War Spear

This is, in my opinion, the best weapon in the game. It has damage, range, stun, easy crits. This was the weapon that carried me through the game more than once when i was still learning, and it was the weapon i got my first watcher flawless with. It'll always have a special place in my weapon slot.

3. Rapier

I like this weapon for the same reason I like the broadsword. It's just fun to use. But unlike the broadsword, i think it still needs to be worked upon. Mainly it's hitbox.

Top Three Worst Weapons

1. Valmount's Whip

It's a great concept, and I want to like this weapon, but it's just so slow and the crit is so situational that's it's never worth picking up.

2. Spartan Sandal

It's just a weaker version of the Spiked Boots. Complete waste of space.

3. Oiled Sword

It's just not that useful. Can't remember the last time I picked up a Oiled Sword.

I can comfortably win with anything but Cursed Sword, so fun is my defining factor. Wrenching, Valmont's and Impaler are my favourites (I don't have War Spear), while I dislike Twin Daggers (I prefer a ohko over a three hit one), Nutcracker and Balanced Blade.

Still, the "fun" part of a build is mainly defined by skills, not weapons.

Top 3
1. War Spear - A game which mostly focuses on multiple foes at same time and how fast you can kill them this weapon is outstanding.
2. Wrenching Whip - Same as above. Really fast weapon with lot of range and no real drawback at all.
3. Spiked Shield - If you know how to block this weapon gives you great damage output to go along your weapon.
Worst 3
1. Hayabusa Boots - Low range, easy to knock off enemies out of your combos so they come back and hit you, really bad if you are not running a pure strength build and the effect on third hit makes me sick.
2. Shove Shield - A shield that bounces enemies away from you with a parry. Absolutly useless. It'll either make you miss with your weapons or give enemies a chance to attack you from range afterwards.
3. Nutcracker - The worst weapon in the game. Sure the stun is nice but the animation and hitbox are terrible. Combine that with absurdly low damage and you get a weapon that feels like you are more flailing around like a idiot than attacking.

For me, it'd be like:

Top weapons: Infantry Bow (shoots fast, huge damage, if you can get piercing on this thing it mulches enemies); Assassin's Dagger (easy, reliable crits lead to massive damage output and you can unlock it very quickly since it's a reliable spawn); and Fire Brands (cheese supreme allows you to go the hard route with a 40-count curse at zero risk; works wonderfully with an Oiled Sword.) Assassin's Dagger with a piercing Infantry Bow effortlessly carried me to my first full clear, through the hard route.

Worst weapons: Spartan Sandals (as someone already said, essentially just a worse version of Spiked Boots); Broadsword (damage output is way too low for something this slow); Nut Cracker (given its abysmal damage it's more accurate to call it a wiffle bat.)

Wasn't even going to touch this thread until someone said Infantry Bow

My personal favorite is Fire Brand even after the nerf since it can stack with any weapon
It almost always comes with double throwing knife making it a 180˚ weapon
It also runs an aftercast cooldown, which is important, since you can open with it very fast

My favorite build is still Fire Brand and +100% againts burning grenades

Worst weapons won't matter so much since we will be able to turn off recipes in a coming patch

I've been asking for a buff to lightning for a while
It would be very cool if we could combine spells together to give some incentive to go a caster build. . . in this respect 2x lightning would be pretty much pure annihilation so long as you could initiate the wind up

Still want to thank devs for the frost shard buff. . . frost nade is still just inharently better though

My problem is that Infantry Bow is basically better than the Heavy Crossbow at the things the Heavy Crossbow is intended to do. About the only thing the HC is better at is killing bosses, but... well, that's an oddly specific thing to carry a single weapon around for, especially since neither boss in the game is particularly challenging once you understand their moveset.

I agree all three spells need buffs of some sort. I kind of favor a "mana" system where they have a limited number of shots/uses in a time period and they recharge over time and gain a small burst of recharge upon killing an enemy. In return, make them actually competitive with ranged weapons.

Making them competitive is somewhat hard concidering they are basically ranged with limited range and mediocre damage/gimmicks at best. And truth be told, spells should be imo treated like frost blast one. An utility "weapon" dealing no damage on its own, but rather enhance whatever weapon and/or items we have on ourselves. Likewise, the only spell im using is frost blast, for that exact reason. I dont have firestorm, so i dont know what it does but lightning bolt is straight up bad.
