Anyone know he fix to display ps4 buttons instead of xbox?

If I play on my account, I see the xbox buttons in game. if my wife uses the familt sharing option, logs into steam and plays, she sees the ps4 dual shock buttons displayed, on the exact same system.

I don't recall setting any controller option at all, but its an annoying bug

We both are using the default controller settings, so we should be seeing the same thing, I'd think.

Ok, get this.. I figured it out. If you have ps4 controller support ON, it displays xbox button. If you turn ps4 controller support OFF however, it then displays the ps4 buttons properly!

That may be because Dead Cells supports non-Xinput controllers natively where many games don't. That support option probably runs your inputs through an emulated xinput controller.

I know its awful late, but thank you! Having same exact thing in DC and few other games, I was totally lost about the cause.

I've just learned to live with it. Some games really need controller support on. I wish they'd fix this annoying bug.

How is this not a bug? The game does not properly recognize DS4 controllers unless a nonstandard setting is used as a workaround. That is literally a bug.

Not exactly a bug, from what the previous posters were saying. Steam's controller support likely interprets button inputs to Xinput or something similar, while Dead Cells natively supports PS4. So Dead Cells would know that the PS4 is in use, except that Steam is masking it as Xinput.

So, if anything, it'd be a Steam "glitch." But that's a huge stretch.
