Me, too. I thought the whole point of collecting and investing cells into unlocking these things was that we'd have them permanently. This has dealt quite a blow to my motivation.
The question, “how do you open the jars at the beginning?”, is just as relevant to new players now as it was then.
It’s strange to see these “unlocked” weapons *locked* in jars with no in-game explanation for why you can’t use what you just bought.
What if they wrongly think that in spite of it, hanging jars of weapons would have some intrinsic interactivity?
It can be legitimately confusing for someone.
Gotta account for the fact that this is humans we're dealing with, can't always expect things to go som much as logically, let alsone always correct.
I don't think it is very sensible to spell out every game mechanic just because someone might not get it.
After all, not understanding the relevance of the jars will not inhibit your ability to play the game in any way.
People should do some preliminary research to know what they're getting into. Know what you're spending your money on, and don't get upset when it turns out to be something different.
When a game has a tag like Permadeath, I know it means I reset at the beginning of every game. That's just knowing how games work. Metroidvanias are all about exploring and powering up...combined with Permadeath, you get a perfect description of Dead Cells.
I rest my case.
tl;dr know your stuff lmao
looooooooool
It's slightly related.
I guess those familiar with the genre can basically 'infer' that you start with new weapons every round. And since most games SHOW that something is breakable with feedback, it's not hard to make the connection that the jars are unbreakable
