Any mods to remove/reduce chances of attacks?
I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ HATE deathclaw attacks, they are the bane of my existence. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. that I open my vault door, three deathclaws attack. EVERY TIME, WITHOUT FAIL. Its gotten to the point that I am considering turning off my radio beacon and not letting new dwellers in. I know that you can reduce the size of the vault to below 60 and it stops deathclaw attacks, but I still want to have a vault with many dwellers. I am seriously hoping that there might be a way to mod the game or change the files to reduce the amount of attacks that occur on my vault, or even to find a way to autokill all attackers. Any kind of help would be appreciated.

Hop on over to Nexus. There's a mod package you can install. Then you go to the 'Credits' screen in the main menu and opt to 'Show mod settings' which has a mod option to disable random attacks. I'd rather it had a way to change the frequency timer personally. I'd like to keep them on but, reduce how often they spawn. But, doesn't seem like anyone's making new mods for this thing anymore.

Just do what I did and get a quest to win 10 deathclaw attacks without losing any dwellers that rewards a pet carrier.

Deathclaw attacks soooo rare now.... :steamhappy:

I'm at 35 pop, so just 1 more until they show up now, kinda curious how strong deathclaws actually are. How many stimpacks should I have ready to fight them off? Do I need beefy 10E leveled characters or will regular starting characters do?

Are you asking for real? I ask cuz, you've had plenty of comments on other discussions... as if you're a veteran player. But, I guess that could just be a wrong assumption.

If you're asking for real and have lots of questions (like this) I encourage you to check out the Wiki and / or 'Guides' section for the game. No, you do not have to have 10E dwellers... it certainly helps ensure their survival though. The main thing is that you have the max number of dwellers in the room sets the Deathclaws are attacking AND that they have pretty decent weaponry. It usually takes about 3 sets of 3-wide rooms before you manage to kill them all off... so, 18 dwellers will need Stimm'd during and possibly after combat. A good idea is to have 36 Stimpaks available for each of these invasions. Better get crackin Dr.! If you have some maxed characters wearing max Endurance gear sporting some most fabulous weapons, you could kill them off fairly quick... with the last one limping it's way into the 3rd set of rooms only to die upon entering. So, then you get by with 24 (or less) stimpaks.

the wiki in no way describes how to fight off a deathclaw attack.

You also don't need anywhere near that many stimpacks. The way I've set up my base, the deathclaws go through the 3-wide restaurant twice, as the room behind it is empty. That's when they perish, because that's where my big agi boys are.

What are you talking about? Deathclaw attack is guaranteed every time i play, multiple in an hour, it's ruining the game.

What option in the mod disable attacks? I enabled "No Random Incidents" and it didn't prevent attacks, only things like fires and infestations.

I don't actually have the game installed currently so, I can't dig through it to find the right one. I could swear I remember there being one though... a setting to disable attacks. However, a good method of dealing with them is this...

At first floor, you have vault door then, elevator down. Next would be 3 block wide storage and then the 2 block wide Office. That's it... no more rooms or elevators. This forces them to go across to right and then back left to get to the elevator down. That means they'll go through the 3 block storage twice and that's where you put your most bad arse dwellers with best weaponry and high endurance + agility outfits. On the next floor, they'll turn out of the elevator to the left--which is where I put my weapon shop and also has 6 bad arse dwellers with best wpns and armor. Then they go across to the right. I keep a 2 block wide storage in the middle, elevator down, and 3 block wide armor crafting room on far right--also containing 6 bad arse dwellers armed to the teeth. With this setup, I've never had Deathclaws make it any further. In fact, normally by the time they get to the clothing shop, it's one last straggler that collapses almost as fast as it entered.
