Save game missing

So we had a power outage and computer went off. Battery Back up did not kick in-in time. Reloaded the game entire save file not loading and is not even showing up in Steam or the game but the save game file is showing in my file search and i have spent A LOT of money on items for this game which i am NOT respending. Suggestions?

Just fix your spendings with FSSE and backups saves with it or manually.

I do except with STEAM they are supposed to be automatically saved. I am not understanding how a prior save loaded just vanishes from STEAM considering had prior saves. Worst case scenario should be a prior save to load

Bad coding. Game manages to ♥♥♥♥ up save, its bkp-file and Steam Cloud all at the same time Just awful.
You can only trust manual backups.

I now have an official ticket in with Bethesda support who tried to kick the issue back to STEAM who then tried to kick the issue back to BETHSDA so i put them BOTH into an email and said now u two fight out whose going to fix this. Probably wont get anywhere but i got tired of them blaming each other.

Yeah, instead of official support we got FSSE and it's a godsend.

False, it's not issue of the port, it's an issue of game itself. Mobile versions also lose saves and other unfixed bugs are exactly the same.

i had no idea its an old issue from the mobile version (i never play game's on my phones; since that could get people killed in the real world)

so they have been scamming players for a long time then .. lol. Why am i Not surprised.

You could play on tablet at home, that's what i did But the game is heavy even for tablet - much power consumption, much heat, meh. Happy to have it on Steam.

I'm 100% sure that dead body glitch were on mobile version as well and resetting objectives as well, i don't remember full list. At least mobile version usually did not lose save after power loss! So yeah, they're not good at fixing things and supporting.

Hey there,

Thank you for contacting The Bethsoft Support Team. My name is Jonas.

All saves are kept locally on the computer in C:/Users/your.name/Documents/my games\Fallout Shelter (by default). There is a backup file for your Vault in this folder. In some cases, it is possible to restore a Vault backup.
Before restoring your Vault, we recommend you completely back up the entire folder before making any changes
To restore your backup Vault:
1. Go to C:/Users/your.name/Documents/my games\Fallout Shelter (by default) to access your save files.
2. Rename the Vault number that is corrupted to "Vault#.corrupt" (the # are in reference to the save slot, not the Vault number).
3. Rename Vault#.sav.bkp to Vault1.sav, removing ".bkp."
4. Open the game and check to see if you have been successful.
Please note that the above process is not guaranteed to resolve your issue.

They even told wrong path for Steam version it's %localappdata%\FalloutShelter

Also people report that bkp-file is often corrupted too. Brilliant coding!

Wiki says that team has plans for another mobile game That's probably where money goes.

I have a similar issue, Computer restarted, Went back into the game and my vault was gone, this was BEFORE i attempted to buy the starter pack but the store wouldnt even pop up, it would just sit there on the "loading" screen, so my all round experiance of this game has been....less the adequate. least it happened BEFORE i spent money,
