Any tips on how to rearrange a vault?
Hi, I currently have 70 dwellers and 14 floors and kinda messed up a few things so I'd like to rearrange my vault. But that would require me to remove many merged upgraded rooms etc, and I'd probably end up running low on food or power, so I'd like to ask if you could give me any tips on how to successfully rearrange a larger vault. Start from the top or from the bottom? What to remove first?

If you have the actual caps to do it, the best way I would think is to just add a new row at the bottom for a few rooms as placeholders while you switch around some rooms. That is if you are at risk of an incident or losing resources.

So if you got Rooms from Left to Right and then Top to Bottom, A B C (Row 1), D E F (Row 2), etc.... And you want Room A to be where Room F is, then just add Room A at the new bottom row, put Room F where A was, delete the old F, and put the new A there.

To avoid wasting caps, just move people to an empty room like storage and do the swaps like that if there is no sudden risk or loss of resources.

I wouldn't bother upgrading until you are sure things are where you want them.

Make sure you have Elevators to keep the floors/rooms connected or else you won't be able to delete some rooms. But otherwise, it doesn't matter which direction you rearrange.

remodeling is hard and expensive. Provide some screenshots of what you have that needs to be moved and we may be able to give you better tips.

Here's a screenshot from my current base, its in the middle of some remodelling also. Note: the 1st and 2nd floors only have the 1 elevator. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=899272000 I'm changing the rooms at the end of the 2nd floors dead end. I also will be removing the storage rooms & a few other things since i now have 5 seperate wings further down below for that.

You can send up to 30 of those vault dwellers out into the wasteland while you remodel, that way they use 0 food/water. If you kick the other 40 out of the vault then having 0 power has zero consequences and allows you to remodel at your leisure. This might be the best opportunity for you to cull the weak from your vault and keep only the ones who were able to hit 10 endurance from lvl 1

Just make sure you have enough caps to do everything you want before you begin
