Fallout Shelter
Isn't this just another freemium game?
I see free to download but multiple options to buy add ons, aka, freemium.

Yeap, but amongst F2P ♥♥♥♥ this one is actually decent, there are no pay-walls and premium currencies. ABSOLUTELY everything in the game can be obtained without paying in reasonable time.
There's also one more thing to mention, but people say i promote it too much xD

Still would be better if it was made into a proper single-pay PC game for Steam.

You forgot to mention everything takes ages.

Yeugh, I'd hate to see any of the F2P games you've seen, because this one is pretty awful.
Yeah, the premium currency (lunch boxes) are rather easy to come by without paying any money, its the rest of the game that matters. And this game isn't a game. It's a series of timers and calls to System.Random.Next(int)

Remove the timers (which are stupidly pointless and do nothing for the game: it should be a simple supply/demand slider where if you don't have enough "supply" then things go bad until you build another room, add more workers, or whatever) and you're left with a very bland hotel management sim with all meaningful rewards are obtained through random events.

It's crap, you spend hours staring at the screen doing nothing at all.

Don´t spend money, just play it and if you want to pay 3.99 for 5 mr handy.
Do that once you gotten more then 40 hours of enjoyment out of it.

But you can play this one totally free. just takes time that is all.

Or you could... I don't know... exit the game and go do... anything else.

You don't have to constantly have the game running to make your dwellers work.

While there are things you can buy, you probably shouldn't. Because:

  • Puchases are buggy right now, as in :dollars: lost. And there is no help from support.
  • If you ever decide to start over or if your game save is corrupted all you bought is gone.
  • You're not competing with anyone. This game has NO multiplayer. You're paying to end the game early.
  • Anything you buy you can just find with time and luck.

If a game is built on the idea that the user shouldn't play it, then I don't think that's a very good game.

No. The game is built on the idea that the user shouldn't play it continuously. 24/7. Which is probably, like, healthy and stuff. If you want to be more active, there are quests.

lol :steammocking:

I've been playing on and off for days now, i havn't spent a penny of RL $$$ & i can see why some people cry that all they do is wait around with nothing to do... thats because they have no concept how to plan ahead or stuff.

I've had no issue's farming free nuka cola bottles, mr Handy's ; etc etc. Comlpeting quests (even a bunch with 18hrs travel time), unlocking 3 questing groups, sending out 25 wasteland searchers, etc etc.

It took some thinking, trial & error; and when that sometimes failed i hit the forums running.

Of all the free to play games i've ever tried, this one really is free to play. If you spend money its because your lazy, rich, stoopid ; or any number of other things or combinations. :steammocking:

Still wish they had done much mroe to optimize this mobile port to PC, but meh... its Zenimax ; what-ya expect from an evil corp like them. Muahahaha:steamfacepalm:

They shouldn't play it continuously. Checkup daily.

Ok, thanks for the info. Guess I will do some more mindless caps farming in 4 and New Vegas :)

They messed up porting this to PC, on PC data is so much easier to manipulate.
For instance you can use savegame editors to get all the stuff they want to sell to you for cash.
This means you can enjoy the game without having to spend any money and still get all the goodies that money would unlock if you so desired.

I like:

I like the game for the quests and because it reminds me of the old old Sim Tower
