well if you weren't answered already by
then i dunno, having a drogadict and a passive abused doesn't sound good either. if that's enough, then what kind of convincing are you looking for?
and that's why you have things like messages written in twenty-foot tall letters of fire in the middle of a desert. because sometimes you just wanna go that extra mile to be convincing.
but mid game , to late game, i wish i could capture them, torture them, then kill them. In other words, wish i could stop them from coming to the vault now that i dont need them for either the caps or nuka cola bottles any longer.
Yes. While I play, i allways want to be drowing in Nuka cola bottles; because I never have enough, even when i'm sitting on 40+ for rainy days.
I save them for quests only, never use them for dwellers returning from the wastelands. And for quests, i still let my questing teams ( i have 3 ) travel to the destination for some time first. I do try and be as frugal as i can be with those bottles since they are golden. I refuse to spend 17 bottles to speed up a mission ... i'd rather go make some food (check click ups in game), watch a movie (check again), go to sleep (check when i wake up to go to the bathroom), then use the bottles the next day. Saves alot of bottles doing that, plus with 3 teams, something is almost allways ready.
High level / geared / day 1 and day 2 wasteland searches do seem to drop more Nuka cola bottles, but getting dwellers to that point can be rough since alot of that is based on RnG. The longere a dweller is in the wastes searching, the better loot they find. And the random missions that you get are where i find alot more bottles to bring home.
Another source of bottles are the Objective missions, but thats all RnG. Some are bonkers, like unreasonable demands for 2 or 3 bottles. I skip those with the 1 free skip per day. Those are also a good source of free Mr Handy's and LunchBox's.
edit : forgot to add, by late game your 25 searchers, and your 3 teams of Questers and finishing the Objective side missions should be netting you more and more bottles. Thus, at this stage, needing to follow & then click on Bottle as he travels your vault for a chance at a few nuka cola bottles is no necessary. Thus why i'd like an option to turn it off. So i don't have to listen to that music or the voices... ugh
Yeah, i play with sounds, since i like the warning for the Mysterious Stranger, hunting for him is a past time... i love getting thousands of caps from him from time to time.
Why would it NOT be worth it? It's free caps / cola (if you want to click them) and free happiness boost in your vault from time to time.
They have no negative effect that I can tell other than the cheesey music that plays while they are visiting the vault.
Not sure why anyone would complain about them.
1) I don't ever feel like I want to ignore them, b/c my thought is, "I still want all the extra Nuka Cola I can get" ... I tend to shave corners on Nuka expenditures by not ever paying full price for accelerating trips to or from the vault - I'll usually find something else to do (or take a break from the game) and thus allow the travellers the ability to knock at least a few points off of 'Nuka-Travel-Time' - rarely pay more than 2 Nukas for any accelerated travel. So, yeah, when I hear the B&C music, I pretty much drop whatever else I was planning to do, pull out the map so I can make sure I see all the possible elevators and levels they might go to in the base, and keep an eye glued on frikkin' bottle while also clicking Cappy to shut off his music dance.
2) Cappy tends to get more worked up than Bottle. On occassion, I think I've seen him break out in the cap dance at least 5 times. Meanwhile, you might be lucky if you get one wave out of Bottle through the whole thing, though I have seen him 'perform' as many as 3 times in one session before.
3) You can DEFINITELY get more than one Nuka from Bottle on some occassions. I got 3 on one click recently - he's also handed out 1 and 2 nukas on other clicks - sometimes all you get is caps, though.
4) Bottle is usually ready to leave before Cappy is. Bottle doesn't care about your stupid base, and you can usually find him asking Cappy if they should even be there, or complaining about not feeling good, or it being too hot in there, or ... once Bottle goes out the Vault Door, though, even if Cappy is 7 Levels down in your base still, I haven't seen him ever break into a new dance for more caps, so the moment Bottle leaves, I get back to doing what I was doing.
Conclusion:
The Bad - It can be somewhat annoying. The whole performance usually takes about 3 minutes, so if you really want to make sure you don't miss a Bottle dance, you pretty much have to stop everything and track him til he heads back to the Vault Door. The other bad thing? If your Daily Evaluation is about to go off and you wanted to mprove base worker morale to help raise your grade, you can't do that at all while B&C are maxxing their happiness, and that happiness definitely does drop right back off the moment they trot their happy arzes outta your complex !
The Good - Regarding your Daily Evaluation, if it happens to coincide with B&C still in your base, it does seem to count that 'false happiness inflation' in your overall score, so it CAN be helpful, once in a blue moon. And having options for extra Nukas w/o paying real $ is a very welcome thing.
I recommend doing the quest and getting them. If it gets bad enough, I may just start totally ignoring them / turning the sound down. Hasn't gotten to that point for me just yet, though.
[EDIT] - Just hit a Bottle that had FIVE Nuka Colas on him ! It looked like a multi-missile launcher when that thing went off ! Wish I had been near the F12 Screen Save key when it happened, but I certainly wasn't expecting it !
The only problem with them for me is that i may accidentially level up my dwellers if i click on them.
