Pretty sure that's false. He showed up for me even when I had only 8 dwellers in my vault.

I thought I had read he had a Dweller requirement while looking for some other answers on the Wiki, perhaps I am mistaken as I cannot find it again. It does feel like there is a requirement as I, and a friend, have had him appear after a certain point.

rooms, he starts showing up after you've built a bunch of rooms. I forgot how many. Its in one of the reddits if you really need to know.. but its not too many.

Seeing him early - 10+ dwellers seems to ahppen often.

He's a theif, He's sent in for a few seconds at random. If you find him. Click him. If you don't, it will play music and he will steal some power/food/water. That's all I remember.

He doesn't take any resources. If you find him you get caps, that's all...

actually, the lore behind the mysterious Stranger is slightly cool.

And in Fallout Shelter, we play as the all knowing & powerfull vault OverSeer (not as the lone wanderer). The mysterious stranger bribes the overseer to Not have him arrested and detained since he is Not a vault resident and is following his own agenda.

Its kinda cool, but not important at all. just saying ... lol that is the "logic" behind why the mysterious stranger gives caps when he is clicked after being found. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=897215614

and i do think its cool we get free caps for playing a cute lil mini game in game. Even if the music, and their dialogue, drive me totally bat-s_h_i_t crazy.

You are just making this up. Just like the developpers wanted to add something cool and went with the mysterious stranger because it's cannon in the games and it is really fun for players when they do cross overs like this. And they were right too.

But the Mysterious Stranger "bribing" you? C'mon, that's utter nonsense. If it was the case and I were the Overseer I'd never agree to "let him go" in exchange of caps. It is just a mindless minigame to pass time with a nice reward at the end.
