20 legendary dwellers without cheating?

Does anybody got 20 legendary dwellers through ordinary gaming? As far as I know, you can get 2 from quests, and thats it. It doesn't seems that lunchboxes contains any.

Got 1 from lunchbox, they are just super rare...
I wonder if breeding legendary babies counts towards this achievement

There's a guide on Astats that says that legendary babies count towards the achievement. I can't confirm it yet, but that's the info I'm going on currently.

Detailed information can be found on reddit, there's a post named SPECIAL inheritance and "super" children (Vault-tec Mechanics followup).

In short, a max SPECIAL level 50 couple has a 6.6% chance of breeding a legendary baby.

141 hours playtime. Got almost all the achievements. All quest done. Got 47 lunchboxes and none of those had a legendary dweller. Time to breed some legendary babies :I

not me ... lol .. it's like playing the lotery .. i never win. LOL .

pS: i have gotten 4 so far from eopening about 100 lunch box's ... but thats just RnGesus hating me. lol

Opening lunchboxes has it around one in 30 with a legendary dweller.

but if you don't want to do that start a new vault and do 10 vaults where all you do is the Sarah lyons and Preston Garvey quests. and you'd get the achieve.

Got two on lunch boxes and one during a quest. If you have good luck maybe playing +500 hours and you will get all of them. Without cheating or paying.

My research tells me that legendary dwellers from different vaults doesn't stack. So you need 20 of them in one vault. Maybe I'm wrong.

Most effective way: Buying a ton of lunchboxes. Or "obtaining" them from a save editor if you're unwilling to support the Dev's. In-game lunchboxes can contain legendaries, but they "seem" much rarer than purchased ones. No real proof to this, just speculation based on free lunchbox opened comapred to others.

Another way to obtain this achievement is to play with a save editor for "science" reasons. Achievements are not tied to any existing Vaults, so you can simply start a fresh one, or backup your exisiting one, and edit a copy of the file and grant yourself a ton of lunchboxes.

You can them open them all, until you complete the achievement, then delete the save file. You're not cheating in the game, but it could be argued you're cheating the acheivement. Either way, they're only achievements who who really cares?

One final way is simply start a fresh Vault, and collect all your free lunchboxes (about 5 or 6 I think) from early game. Then save the game, and backup that file. You can the reload the game, and open your lunchboxes. If you don't get what you're looking for, reload the save file and start over.

You will need to let some time pass in-game before trying for different lunchbox loot., although another way is to double up. Wait until you have at least one other box item (Pet Carrier, or Mr Handy) and save your game.

Back this file up, and then reload, and open the lunchbox. If it contains nothing you are looking, then exit, replace the file and try again, this time opening the pet carrier/Mr Handy first.

Although lunchbox loot is tied to in-game time, it appears that other box items will trigger a reset of your lunchbox regardless. This basically gives you a second chance for each lunchbox, so long as you backup your save game.

Finally, as achievemnts are connected to Vault saves, it should be theoretically possible to backup your save as many times as you like, and open your lunchboxes at different times in-game:

1st sav file - open after loading.
2nd save file - open 30mins into play.
3rd save file - open 1hr into play.
4th save file - open 1hr 30mins into play.

And so on. Might take a while, but a little less cheaty than save editing. Still cheaty though

Well i got two legendary girls from two SPECIAL maxed parents, and my legendary dweller count didn't increase. Now i am trying new vaults with the first boxes from quests, definitely don't want to cheat, a backup of a savegame could be acceptable... Have 5/20 for the last achievement, and many of of the other achievements are still considered very rare, because i transfered my save from Windows Store, where i bought a Starter Pack and some robots...
The girls were definitely legendary because they have 40 SPECIAL at level one, and it seems with the pet that has 75% chance for twins are always two identical twins born, in terms of SPECIAL. But they are not any of the legendary dwellers...

...why. I mean I use the +3 child SPECIAL pet, Rares start with 49 stats (28+21)
Legendaries start with 40+21. which is 9 points shy from 10 all SPECIAL.

I've got three vaults going at the same time. When one is waiting, I play the other. It helps to level up the achievements faster, so it should work with legendary dwellers too.

I opened 70 lunchboxes so far ,and only two legendary dwellers. I would say this achievement is dumb
