Hesitant on buying the $5 starter pack

If my vault save corrupts, will it transfer over to other vaults or can Bethesda help me out?

everything gets tied to the vault its bought on. If the file corrupts, everything is lost. Nothing can be done to recover it.

Well you can do copies of the save file, but yeah avoid spending money. If they can't make a working game and then release it again you probably better of not spending money on it. It's no real bonuses from it.

dont know. havent had a save corrupt. but i have had several vaults fail due to poor planning on my part. I dont see much use for the starter pack, but I am also not rushing my vaults and they are doing very well.

I've been playing for the last day and enjoy it more than on my phone. I have a vault of 30 People with 98% happiness. Just wanted to spend the extra dollars, if all this wasn't time & money wouldn't go down the drain, to try and get some of the legendary dwellers.

The only reason to buy anything in this game is to support the developers of a game that you enjoy. Everything in the game can be got for free with enough time and patience.

My advice would be to buy the started pack to give something back for the enjoyment you get from the game and if anything happens to your save then use a save editor to give yourself 1 (and only 1) starter pack on a new vault.

You can also google 'Fallout Shelter Save Editor' and use one to give yourself a starters pack if you do not want to spend the money.

If this were an online game I'd agree with your assessment of theft, as it is entirely offline and stores itself on my hard drive... not so much.

I'm sure the people who purchased lunch boxxes and had them not added to the game would have another reason for 'why we can't have nice things'.
Besides companies don't need save editing to do things like DRM, look at those keurig machines that refuse to use anything but a brand new keurig brand pod for example.

no it will not be available for any other vault. Even if the save bug does not happen, nor will it be available if the bug happens and youw ant to restart that same vault numbr.

I do NOT know firsthand; but i ahve seen many threads, with players experiencing 'issues' with getting this resolved if it just disapears. They claim they get the run around from both Steam & Bethesda.

You can also simply make a back up of your save game files in a new folder so 'if' that bug happens to you, you can simply restore your game. Of course this can alsp be abused, but that is something for you to decide for yourself.

If you need to know how to do this, youTube has easy to follow tutorial vids that will help.

PS: I didint spend a penny. ON normal mode I had no problemo getting 9 mr Handy's just by farming in game. In my 2nd vault i'm about to get my 3rd. In my hardcore game, well maybe i will get 1 mr handy soon ... if i don't die horribly.

lol, wat. The point of DRM is to get people to buy instead of trying to rip off the company. Game servers stay afloat because people pay for them. Games shut down because people don't pay enough for them. Games shut down faster because there's people with your mentality: "if I can get these things for free by cheating I am not paying a dime, because it's a free game".

Fortunately, Besthesda doesn't care that much about Fallout Shelter, this is not their bread and butter, but it helps to promote Fallout, which is why they don't put up anti-cheat measures and also why they have these easy-to-lose lunchboxes you like to whine about.

And this is not saying I care whether you cheat or not, I don't even care whether you cash or not, but claiming that you're not cheating a company out of their money by exploiting is just a convenient excuse.
